Boise State deserved it by being ranked higher (#9) than Ohio State (#10) in the BCS standings. But Texas Tech (#7) deserved to be in a BCS bowl ahead of both of them. If the BCS makes any changes, it's time to do away with the no more than 2 teams per conference rule. Texas Tech is being punished for playing in the best division in the country and Ohio State is being rewarded for playing in what is essentially the MAC conference with bigger stadiums.

Something tells me that OSU would have been chosen over Texas Tech as well. If we're going by the method of "teams that deserve it," K-State wouldn't have been left out all those times in the late '90s and early '00s...

The process has never been about who deserves it most and always about who brings in the most money. As soon as people realize this, well, I dunno - I still wish for a system that is meritoriously based and not financially. But the only way we get to a meritoriously based system is with a playoff, and the BCS is never going to go there voluntarily.

If you were the BCS, and your job was to bring in the most money, which school are you going to take - Ohio State or Boise State? 10 out of 10 times Ohio State will be chosen over Boise State because Ohio State brings in more money than Boise State could ever dream about.

Until the actual system is changed so it's not geared towards money (which it will never be), that's just what we're cursed with.

Maybe we should just get rid of all conferences, rankings, and bowls? Then there would be nothing to ***** about! :mask:
