Best game ever by Cyclone PG?

I remember Kane having an amazing performance when he went up against Marcus Smart down in Stillwater.

His stats were 29 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists with 1 steal and only 2 turnovers!

He also passed up a potential game winning shot to Naz, who famously nailed the 3 pointer to break the curse at Gallagher-Iba. Kane is still one of my all time favorite players.

Edit: I guess I should add Kane had 3 overtimes to stuff his stat sheet, still impressive though.

Not to mention - wasn't that the game Kane got Smart to double flop as well?

All I know is Monte has the ability to make A LOT of money on Monday night depending how well he plays.

Self will have something up his sleave for that matchup. I just hope the stripes don't get in the way so the players can show their stuff.

Even I was young when Hercle Ivy played. Was he a shooting guard or a PG? He really could stuff a stat sheet though. Kind of wonder how he would have done in the three point era.

I know Hornacek went off for a bunch of assists against Iowa one year but I can't remember if he scored much that game.

I watched Hercle a lot in those days. He apparently had the green light to shoot whenever he wanted, and he wanted to a lot. Like Barry and Elmer, the 3-point shot would have significantly upgraded his standing in all-time scoring. The guy could really shoot.

Monday is setting up to be quite the opportunity for us, even if we drop at TCU.

Also a great chance to get some insight on Morris vs. Mason (though Graham is there as well)

Just off the top of my head, Monte's 30 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and zero turnovers on 10-16 from floor and 4-5 from 3 is the best line I've seen from a Cyclone PG.

Some other contenders: Tinsley vs UCLA in Sweet 16, 2000. Tinsley triple double vs Mizzou in 2000. Stinson @ KU, 2005. Garrett @KSU 2010. Kane vs Baylor 2014, Kane vs UNC in NCAA Tournament. Morris vs. KU last year. I'm probably forgetting some.

But tonight may top them all. Your thoughts?
Just bc of the stage and opponent I say Tinsley in the sweet 16. But Morris's best game ever easily and top 5 ever overall

I'd like to nominate Jacy Holloway's performance against ku in that final Big 8 championship. Makes the final shot ever in the Big 8, wins the game, and secures eternal Big 8 bragging rights!

i don't know if I would say it's "the best" but it's definately Monte's best. Not only were his stats very impressive, but his control on the offensive side of the ball as well as multiple clutch shots to keep us in control of the game. It was a performance that all of us fans were hoping to see out of him as a senior coming back for his last year. I am happy for the guy.

I would say the competition had a lot to do with that stat line. Tinsley against the competition he did it against was better. Okie State had lost like 7 straight. So that is why I say Tinsley.

Who is the best PG in the conference, Morris or Mason?

Oh, we'll find out come Monday. That's right, we'll find out Monday. (dramatic repeat for effect)

Incredible game. And he did it against one of the backcourts that was supposed to challenge him. Guess Big Game is earning his nickname.
