He played long and hard for ISU and never transferred. He's earned some respect...

I never really understood why they can't pay for you to get to the school, but they can give you a free ticket
I realize the intention is probably to keep schools with a huge athletic budget from bringing in a zillion recruits, but at the same time, why just give them something cheap for free, but not the whole package?

You really don't see the difference between a free ticket and a free plane ride? I can get you a free ticket to tonight's game. How about a free plane ticket in return? They get the whole package on the official visit.
I do, but the principle is what I have a problem with. Just like it's a bunch of **** that the bowl games can give the players a package, but players can't accept gift from anyone else. wtf?
If he came to ISU..TRUST ME NOW WE WOULD HAVE A DAMN GOOD TEAM. Therefore ISU would be BIG!:smile:

I also think that the use of a private jet for recruits is a no-no. Coaches can utilize them, but recruits have to fly on commercial flights. So I don't buy the private jet part of the story.
It is the only thing that makes sense and helps to explain why some people ride the bench for no apparent reason.
Yes, it is. Plus, if it's a surprise to Coach K (and don't kid yourself, he's there to see Roy too), he wouldn't use the university's jet because I'm pretty sure Coach K would find out.
Visit made by HB at his expense in middle of season? Free plane ticket by booster? Surprising K? Gimme a break. Hmmm. This is called high pressure recruiting. Game on TV - he might be on the bench.

I'm having trouble with the whole story. Ames High had a game last night, and has another big one tomorrow. That means a pretty important practice today. Doubt that HB would be allowed to miss that...
Nope hes there, all of the team told me he was there today, and I have some classes with him and he wasnt in either of them.
Then that's odd, considering that he has announced several times that he would focus solely on his high school season and wait until it was over to start thinking about his college choices...
