Anyone have experience with those longer range sound devices? Supposed to be humane. Works up to few hundred feet so they say. Neighbor has a Great Pyranees. From the second its out, to when they command it back (fortunately only 5 to 10 minutes) it never stops barking. They will not put a bark collar on it. So its time for me to take action. We live rural. Thanks.

They piss my dog off more, and he barks worse and harder.

I guess they are cheap enough for you to try, I am sure it depends on the dog.

Have the same problem. New neighbors. 2 big dogs. The second they let them out just constant barking for NO reason. 6 a.m. or 11 pm. 6 or 7 times a day. Finally called the animal shelter. They said they would call them but if that doesn't work I would have to take them to court. Wow.

We are "lucky" its only for 10 mins max. But they start at 630 a.m. and let it out say 10 times a day. The cumulative effect is getting old. They moved in this summer, so I made it 6 months.

Do you have a dog it’s barking at? Our new neighbors last year have a pit bull, and their dog and our dog would bark like crazy at first until we put them in the same yard and let them play awhile. Now they just run the fence together with minimal barks of just hey run with me.

You live rural and are complaining about a Great Pyranees doing exactly what it's genetically wired to do. They guard their territory by roaming the land and barking loudly.
Mentioned rural as didn't want people suggesting call the police. Yes, ill complain. Here in this house 7 years with silence. While rural their fence is 150 feet from our house. Its obnoxious that people do that to your neighbors. Shave its neck and put a shock collar on it ... or get rid of the dog.

Nope.

Good luck. Bark collar won't stop a GP from barking.

Probably be more effective to move. I suggest somewhere without neighbors.

The second I walk out in my yard they just start in. A couple of times the owner has come outside to say "be quiet" so they know.... frustrating.

Yeah. Honestly you might just have to live with it. In town, I get not tolerating constant barking dogs that are really close to your house. If you're rural, you might have to tolerate it. I'm curious how close the neighbors are.

Have you talked to the neighbor about interacting with their dogs to socialize them to you? Dog will generally stop barking at people they "know" vs an "unknown" person across the fence. Just a thought to help you out.

I had a dog next door that would bark more if they saw me because I think they wanted to play. I felt bad for it because it was getting neglected too often, but the noise was annoying. It would bark at anything though because it wanted to get out and run and was in a small pen.

I eventually bought those electric dog whistle boxes that turn on only when the dog barks (though it ran a lot more than that). I had to get rechargeable batteries to keep it running, but it did slow up the barking. Not perfect, but it helped.
