I'd have rather seen a fine to cover the cost of the "rescue" effort. Now he is just using up more of the citizens money by making them pay for his care and meals in jail.
Boom. The guy doesn't need to go to jail for being an idiot. Make him fork over the cash.
I like both. I also like the idea that he can't profit off this. Hopefully that includes television. If this guy ends up on a t.v. show I will boycott that station. Unless Dexter or Storm chasers is on that station. Then I will just be mad at them.

I'm just glad they're doing whatever they can to prevent any potential gain by these losers. Only by making an example out of them will they show all the other potential publicity seekers that you don't screw around with emergency responders and other public servants for fun. If there had been any real emergencies with a legitimate need for help during the balloon chase, then the family could have/should have been held accountable for that, too.
