Audi Crooks to Transfer

Looks like she may get neither, because there is no shot in hell Oklahoma State is paying her what she thought she’d be making.
But it still may be a lot more than at ISU. I could s deals like she has with Fareway continuing and there would likely be PR-type jobs available.

I think this is where people have blinders on. OSUs attendance for games is much lower than ISUs. This is where Iowas state fans think WBB is a big draw, especially those on message boards.

Please name me 2 players that were on OSUs team this last year without looking it up. Audi has a big boost because she is from Iowa. She loses that outside the state.

One can make the argument that Audi actually increases her profile by transferring to a school like Oklahoma State. She gets a nice payday. Audi is a unique memorable personality. Those who want to villainize her for the Cyclones roster turnover on Audi should consider the possibility that the other big 2 weren’t the headliners on Iowa State. Maybe they felt slighted and their egos were hurt

Comparing Ashley and Audi is comparing apples and bowling balls in terms of popularity. Ashley wasn’t brought to the WNBA draft a year before entering the draft just to watch. Ashley wasn’t ever the face of WBB.

As for what what forfeiting a legacy, I don’t know all that was lost, but here’s examples of what was given up:

1 - She could’ve easily hosted a camp/multiple camps and plastered her name all over it à la the Fred Hoiberg camps from 25 years ago and put whatever price she wanted on them. Can she still do this 5 years from now, sure, but I’m not going to encourage my daughter to go to an OSU grads camp like I would if it were, say, Niangs camp.

2 - Likely start up any business (used cars, a gym, restaurant) and just having her name affiliated, make easy money

3 - Red carpet roll out for any ISU event she wants to attend. I’m guessing she would’ve received a similar reaction to Niang at the Combs concert last Saturday.

I just think she took a lump sum over annuity. And at first, I thought it was probably the smart move. From what I’m gathering, the lump sum is not what was anticipated.

When and where is the WNBA draft?

Basketball Camp thing would never work. No one would learn how to play defense . Lol. Seneca still own the Ames Wingstop? Not sure what Audi was anticipating. But $400k plus is her likely payday IMO. And her side deals are in addition most likely. And her footprint is bigger now. IMO Audi will come out fine.

Just because they are talented players, doesn’t mean the players will click and be a really good team. Seems like that has played out somewhere before………
I was responding to a post claiming they would suck (i.e. miss NCAAs) which I doubt will be the case, especially when compared to the much higher odds of suckdom for ISU next season.

Just born a few years too early

So being a Cyclone All Time Great really doesn’t give a future payday that is continuous. There is constantly a potential new face that gets the constant Cyclone visibility and platform for the moment. Yesterday’s stars give way for the new stars.

A winning program with a coach who can better relate to players is going to coach her up to play some D and scheme to hide her weaknesses on D while not alienating her teammates in the process.
For anyone that thinks coaching is going to fix what we saw out of her this past season I have a mile long bridge I’d like to sell ya.

Ashley was great at Iowa State, got a few years of income from bouncing around the WNBA, but the competition, size, speed, quickness, and skill set were another level....same for Lacey.

The only player to hold on to her spot and make it worthwhile is Careleton.

Bridget Carleton signed a three-year, max contract with the Portland Fire in April 2026, marking her as the expansion team's first-ever free-agent signing. Bridget Carleton signed a 3 year, $3,748,500 contract with the Portland Fire, including $3,748,500 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,249,500. In 2026, Carleton will earn a base salary of $1,190,000, while carrying a cap hit of $1,190,000 and a dead cap value of $3,748,500

Barry Stevens, Lafester Rhodes. Those guys were defensive liabilities. But their offense we needed. Audi was a Second Team All American. Best player we had. What was the fix for the underachieving teammates of Audi? The gang that couldn’t shoot straight.

Nothing new here, but from her mouth

Thanks, I was looking for that.

Her motivation to expand her talent by challenging herself in a new environment well that's an interesting idea. Can't fault it. Experts and WNBA talent scouts may find a spot for her but most don't buy in to her skills as they stand today.

Liabilities maybe but they didn’t refuse to play a morsel of defense. Opponents actually used her to screen their defenders to clear their path to the basket. How the **** is 36% from three as a team considered couldn’t shoot straight? It’s obvious your mind is set and I don’t give a ****. But just because you aren’t willing to see it doesn’t make it true.

I’m actually excited to see how this plays out. I think a new coach may benefit Audi greatly, but time will tell. It is my opinion that Bill created a lot of the issues within the team this past season. You can’t favor Audi so much and not expect players like Jada and Addy to be disgruntled. Bill didn’t coach Audi hard. Was that him or was it her.
