Audi Crooks to Transfer

In Jan Jensen's 2nd season, Iowa finished 2nd in the B1G and made it to the B1G championship (6th appearance in 8 seasons). With Iowa's youngest team since 2013....

Iowa will be a Top 10 team in the pre-season rankings and Top 3 in the B1G, even with 5 kids headed to the portal. Jan has expanded her recruiting footprint from Atlanta to Alaska to California, even landing the #6 kid in the country whose 2nd option was South Carolina. Jan has also gotten #1 kids in the country to visit IC (Kaleena Smith and Kate Harpring) the past two years. Unheard of stuff in IC.

Carver-Hawkeye was voted the hardest place to play in the B1G this year by B1G student athletes and regularly appears on "Top 5 Environments" lists.

Iowa has come a long way, and has a bright future -- especially compared to Iowa State right now. ISU is lucky they beat Iowa this year because tbh it's looking like it's going to be an 2-8 record vs Iowa for the decade come this fall...
When are they going to fundraise to finish the roof on Carver Hawkeye?

I think that's fair. I do enjoy both sports, but I think wrestling has more upside in large part because of the history and the smaller number of D1 teams.
I don’t know anything about wrestling so I won’t argue with you. I do think WBB is gaining popularity and has a good upside. If people start watching it on TV, it has the potential to pay for itself.

My money is on Iowa for Audi. Jensen was her recruiter in high school; has always talked glowingly about Crooks the last 3 years.
Jan likes her and she likes Jan.
Certainly possible. How does she fit anywhere else honestly? Bill pretty much let her just park in the lane and only play offense. I think shes somewhat limited on what she can bring to a lot of teams

Then you don't know basketball. She has elite hands in corralling and controlling questionable passes, she has very good foot work and set up positional skills. She is very adept at going left or right (you would hope college players can, but a lot can't) and she has good/adequate passing skills for a big.
Now, she has lots to work on too (even on offense). In my opinion, she was too soft and rarely finished through contact. As season went on, she seemed to dramatize the contact and went to the floor a lot. And then there is her defense and conditioning.
While I agree with most of what you said, going left is not something she can do very well.

She doesn't run the floor well, she doesn't play defense well(especially outside the paint), shes isn't real good offensively without the ball. She perfect in a half court system where she's the only option offensively.

Oh and BTW she’s a second team all-America…
Yeah I never said she couldnt score the ball in an offense that 100% revolves around her. What does she bring to a balanced roster with a lot of movement offensively, gets up and down the court, and where you are expected to play defense? Where you are expected to set screens, guard players out of the paint, one that pushes the ball? Frankly I can't see her doing any of that.

This would suck for obvious reasons. But it would be hilarious just from the standpoint of all the awful things Iowa fans on social media said about her (especially weight related.)

It'd be funny to screenshot a bunch of their past comments and repost those receipts when they inevitably 180 and cheer for her if she were to switch from Iowa State to Iowa.

And at the same time you'll hear ISU fans say the same things the Iowa fans said about her. Only thing that matters is the scoreboard

Audi is taking a big risk by leaving. She would be an all American if she stayed, protected by the staff and community. Jerry hung and set records that would most likely never be beat.

Now you go to another school, make more money, but also comes with expectations. I doubt the next coach will have as long as leash on her as Bill. Big risk we'll see if it works out, hope so for her sake. Maybe this is her last year of basketball....no WNBA? needs to cash in now?

Where is she going to go where her role is the same? Where all she has to do is park in the lane and play offense. Where the offense spends the entire shot clock waiting for her to get position down low.

It won't be Iowa. There's no realistic way for her and Heiden to operate on the court at the same time. The paint would be completely clogged. Audi will get paid by someone who wants to have her be the focal point of their offense.

Great question. If she ends up a one of the best Women's Programs she is not getting the same type of PT or the same amount. Be interesting to see where she lands.

It would make sense. Could keep the Fareway endorsement.

In all honesty, and siap in here, but what would the odds be of her next landing spot redshirting her, getting her in better shape and conditioning and redefining her game for her senior year? That's probably what I would do in her shoes
