Audi Crooks to Transfer

Reverse the order in which they entered the portal and things may have gone differently.
Yea…I can’t imagine being hyped to play with a teammate who takes tons of shots, gets all the glory, an assload of NIL as you get near nothing, and apparently has full control of what they’re gonna do. Checks themselves in and out on their timeline, doesn’t or can’t D up a light pole, and only gets rebounds that drop in their lap. Then waddles down the floor looking for the ball.

I played with a HS teammate that our coach thought was an all star…let him jack up anything he wanted and allowed him to run all the O through him. We were all happy to be finished with that season.

So this is going to be the straw that breaks the camels back, right? How do you keep a coach that can't keep a talented roster together? I have so much more respect for Arianna Jackson after this news than I already did. She seems like a person of tremendous character. If my son were 15 years older I'd tell him to go marry her tomorrow.

Bingo…teaching them to be good people and humble is a challenge these days. Especially when everyone surrounding them often do the opposite. This is what former players always talked about when mentioning what Fennelly and the staff did for them. BUT times have changed and I’m not sure kids today take to those lessons nearly as well.
I'm sure it's harder today, but you realize this is what every older generation has said about the recent generation? I'm Gen X, born in 1970. I remember one summer job I worked for the post office. During training, the guy running the thing kept talking about how he hated these summer help hires because we were all lazy and entitled. I think part of it is true because that's part of being young. How many times have you looked back at yourself and thought, "Dang, I was a moron."

That being said, I remember in most of the summer jobs I had, it was us kids running around doing all the back breaking work, while the regular hires mostly just hung out and told us what to do next.

As someone who doesn’t care much about wbb and would rather see the money go to fb and mbb… Audi is kind of a double edged sword. She can score a ton of points, but she’s a major liability on defense. It’s impossible to play man to man with her because a ball screen is going to result in an open 3 every time. She’s not leaving the lane. I still don’t know why there wasn’t a plan to slim her down and increase mobility, but it never seemed like they even entertained that. Does not help that Fennelly seemed to force her the ball at all costs and make everyone else just glorified entry passers.

That all said, I don’t think that Audi is going to have a long or profitable wnba career, so if someone is going to give her $2-3M for her senior year, she should definitely take the bag.

15? Marry tomorrow?

"Audi ball" isn't Audi's fault.

BF is cooked. The players see it. The only one staying is Jackson, and that's because her loyalties are 100% to ISU and it wouldn't matter who the coach was. She was a Cyclone fan before she could dribble a ball.
Absolutely agree BF is cooked.

Time will tell if Audi can play in a system that isn't Audi ball as we know it. I am skeptical. Anyone who is excited about the potential offensive benefits Audit brings, has to be equally leery about the zero that she brings on the defensive end.

Apparently you missed Jamie's video.

I spent my entire youth wanting to attend Iowa State for my education. I have spent my entire adult life benefitting from that education, and, in turn, wanting nothing but the best for the university and its athletic teams. I have stuck with the athletic department through highs and lows (mostly lows--I am that old), and there is nothing better than experiencing a basketball game at Hilton

That being said, it sure has been a tough few months with the change in football, the general disappointment (with an injury) of the MBB NCAA tournament, the maddening collapse of WBB after the start of the conference season, and now all the WBB transfers.

It does make it hard to maintain positivity associated with Cyclone Athletics when everyone seems to want to leave. I always thought Audi simply always wanted to be a Cyclone. Of course she has to find her own path, but as a life-long Cyclone, this one really hurts.

Just throw away next year and give the mens basketball team all the womens money so we can get some better players for the mens team. What is the point of hiring a bunch of women that will transfer after next season with a probable new coach.
I would expect BF to go out and get the best one year players he can and not give a rat's ass what the team looks like the season after. UNLESS, he can somehow wrangle Billy into the job (SHOULDN'T happen), then he might take a longer term view.

Actually, this fiasco probably dooms any chance Billy had, as everyone now sees the program needs a complete break from current and a new start.

I hope she does go there. Won’t be hard to run her into the ground with pace of play. You can attack her offensively because she has never met anyone she wanted to guard. Rebounds in the paint will be available.

There is no alternate universe in the infinite number of universes where Crooks ends up at Iowa. They have an All-Big Ten center and play at a pace Crooks can't play at.

You didn't even mention the absolute embarrassment with the end of our gymnastics program. This is not on the same level as the other issues you mentioned but still disappointing to hear about the lack of support for that program over a long period of time.

I’m most likely who you’re referring to. Please site one thing I’ve said that isn’t 100% accurate. I can’t imagine a new fanbase is going to be as forgiving of her deficiencies as this one has.

You have a very strange definition of abuse.
It’s the ones the constantly rant about her weight, lack of effort, etc. The same ones that rarely, if ever, offer positive comments.

Have you see what TJ demands from his players? He's a good coach, so it's probably not fair to expect the same from Bill.
