Audi Crooks to Transfer

I would counter that since Women's sports lose money it's quite obvious the general public doesn't care about them. Spending extra AD money on them in the current environment would be wasting resources.

Spending money on a one year fix only to have to hire a new coach in a year and start all over again would be wasted money. Save the spending for a new coach salary and trying to rebuild after 2027. 2026-2027 is a lost season either way.

It’s really not surprising to hear players who are more into social media clicks and money to come across this way. Today it’s all about image and income generation. Thats society for our youth period. Finding players like AJ or Ryan who have a commitment to the school is becoming a rare commodity.

This is completely unfair and imo completely naive. If it were as easy to transfer in the past as it were now it probably would have been even worse at times. Probably has more to do with how easy it is to get out of a bad situation as “kids these days”.

Pollard continuing to blame NIL and transfer portal while not acknowledging he has/had two coaches in key sports TJ and MC that handled transfer portal due to program culture.

Can blame the system if you'd like, but at some point you can see who is blaming the system and who is managing it.
Ten bucks says Fennelly wrote the WBB script for Pollard to read.
At least it sounded that way.

Honestly, I think it reveals Jamie's intention for NIL. Football and basketball are the money makers and will get as much support as they can afford to give them. Everything else is going to be supported like it was before NIL, but not much more. Those programs will have to do the best that they can with the support that they can individually generate.

The entire team didn’t leave due to NIL. Easy scapegoat.

^ I need to bookmark this. It's a concise and accurate counterpoint to the crapola spin our AD just subjected us to.

This announcement stings the most, but isn't remotely surprising. I'm grateful she wore a Cyclones jersey and I'm glad I was able to take my daughter to see her (and of course the other Twister Sisters that are leaving) play!

WOW, comparing her to Fizer is brutally offensive to Marcus. Audi's skill set was to be larger than all the other players, catch the ball right at the basket and bounce it off the glass for two points or get fouled and maybe make a free throw. I struggle to type the world "skill" next to her name. Her size was the only thing that makes her special and everything else about her game was sub-par. She was brutally overrated and I'm much more bothered about losing truly "skilled" players like Addy and Jada, sigh.
OK. I'm going to take the bait, although I know I shouldn't. Because ganging up on Audi, who by all accounts is a truly decent person as well as a heck of a ball player, is sickening. And by ganging up, I mean the number of posters here who diss Audi, not just GT25Ump. While there is momentum on this and other forums to denigrate her skills and abilities and drive, and even her personality, the true experts in the game have repeatedly named her to All B12 and All American teams, this year includes the Wooden All American Team. And this and other posts suggests she isn't skilled?

As far as which teams would want her, as other posters have questioned, do you really think she enters the portal not knowing what her options are?

1- I absolutely HATE that she is leaving, but don't blame her.
2- I can't bring myself to watch the Pollard video. Might just skip it. It's platitudes, right?
3- Any chance Addy or Jada come back now?

Of course they didn't. Some probably left because they didn't like the coaching, some for more money, some because they just wanted a change of scenery.

I'm not happy about the situation, but I also don't think it's fair to act like the whole team left because of the coach either.

If I had to guess, I think he and Jamie had a discussion and agreed that he would retire at the end of the contract. I think he's earned that at least.

So…Jamie could find out more by asking the players why? He either has, or will be doing that, right?

There is no alternate universe in the infinite number of universes where Crooks ends up at Iowa. They have an All-Big Ten center and play at a pace Crooks can't play at.
If she did, there are going to be some asshat Iowa fans that need to scrub some awful things off their social media accounts. There were some brutal things said about her during her time here.

I was referring to the content not the delivery.
I'll take your bet that Fennelly didn't write it. Burden of proof is on you. Find something concrete, and I'll gladly venmo you 10 bucks.

Content sounds to me exactly the AI-esque type of AD speak Pollard always does. I am indifferent towards how Pollard speaks, but I know it really bothers some, others like it, probably just depends on how "corporate" of a person you are.

But if you think Fennelly forced him to do this or say something specific, eh...Pollard likes to hear himself talk. I'm sure he had no problem coming up with all this himself (or maybe he just ChatGPT'd it, who really knows.)
