Attendance policy from JP...

Can you really space people out all that well at half capacity? People are packed in their like sardines anyways when the stadium is full. Let's just say the amount of space alloted to each "seat" on the bench is not reflective of the average fat American ass. We always bracket our 4 seats with seat backs to keep people from pushing us out of our seats. No way you can observe the current separation distance that is recommended at half capacity. You would probably need to do 1/4 capacity, and even that might not do it.

Whatever, I'm renewed and got my tickets and I'm not particularly worried about it. But from a personal perspective I don't feel any safer at half capacity than I would at full.
Yeah I'm in the same boat as you. I was just saying they probably rationalize the 50% capacity notion by saying they can space people out better, even if it doesn't work out as well as they believe it will.

I wish there was a virulent antibody testing program in place after all these months so a bunch more people would know if they’ve had it yet. I’d feel a lot safer with even 10,000 of the 30,000 at least knowing where they stand.

But I imagine the 30k people are paying for seats in certain areas... Would you pay the $12k for a 50 yard line seat and then get told to be on the outer edges?

Yes, that sounds like the plan. There's no point to limiting to 30,000 and then only filling the lower bowl. I'd imagine it'll be as simple as only selling the even numbered seats or every other row. Families could sit closer and thus providing more space in between groups.

Yea but 22k already bought their tickets under the assumption of their seat location. I imagine a large number of that 22k will be pissed.

odd because I would imagine at least a decent portion of season ticket holders are older and have some of the comorbidities making COVID riskier for them. Plus the economic upset/uncertainty for many right now. So it would seem like the decent thing to do to say hey we understand, hope to have you back next year. Also thought it was nice that if you did buy this year but decide you aren't comfortable attending come fall, you can get a refund or defer to 2021.
Barta: **** you and your sensibilities. I want your money!

Lucky for them they'll be able to get a refund & come back in 2021 with no penalty. There will be plenty of people who'd love to take their place.

LMAO have you seen these forums after a loss? Humans suck and ISU isn't immune to that

I'm sure it won't get 100% approval but the rule as always is the internet is made up of a vocal minority of posters that suck. That doesn't mean a majority of humans suck. If you don't like your seats, ISU has made it easy to not attend with no effect on 2021.

If you're going to be mad about getting allowed into a football stadium this Fall I don't know that to tell ya
I'm going to assume that Jamie is going to do the best he can to make sure fans are seated in similar seats in which they paid for. If there are going to be people that come unglued because they're not in the exact seat, then by all means give that ticket to someone else.

I highly doubt if you pay for a good seat you're going to get stuck in the corner or in the upper deck.

Also, didn't Pollard say those who have already renewed and decide to not go can get a refund this year? If you don't like where they are telling you to sit, sell your tickets back.

Yeah, be pissed at Pollard because he has total control over the pandemic.

I've been one of the biggest supporters of playing the games this season, and I believe my group had renewed our season tickets in the early days of this thing not knowing how long it might last.

That said, I don't think that 30K fans in attendance is a good idea. Like others have said, 30K people in a close quarters and yelling loud - spreading the maximum amount of breath particles seems like a recipe for disaster. It's one thing if a few dozen people get it from this, that's probably an acceptable risk. It's another if hundreds or thousands get it.

I'll be interested in the measures they put in place. Much as I'd love to tailgate, I hope they don't allow tailgating. It just seems impossible to do any of this in a safe way if most of the fans are intoxicated. Keep the lots closed until maybe 90 minutes before kickoff. We're still 4 months out from the first game, so I guess we just hope the level of cases continues to drop and there are so few by September that this doesn't matter. If not, I think a lot of us are going to have a tough decision to make.

Renewed, but I hope they either cancel the whole season or we are allowed full attendance. 30K people in there just feels sad.

Just renewed. Hopefully I beat out the other 8k. We are in the endzone club but my guess is the club will not be in use. If we get spread out I’m hoping it is better than normal viewing.
Any chance of a BYOB situation? That would be legit and many fans already subscribe to this anyway.

I'm guessing the vast majority of people would rather have 30k people in attendance and football played, than zero football all together.

It sounds like renewing season tickets exactly where they were is exactly the plan though. It's pointless and will spread things just as well with season ticket sections still just as packed

Pretty sure there's been seasons at ISU where 30,000 was normal so given the circumstances that would be pretty good.
