That arena is super nice! Really sad that a P5 program that just won a National Championship is building a new arena with a 7,500 capacity. If we won a natty I think we could fill a 30,000 seat arena and then have some overflow watch the game from Jack Trice.
That's around the same size as the Knapp Center at Drake. A building that size can get pretty loud when full.

Northwestern at number 9? Wow, those donors aren't seeing the best return on investment there.
Yep. That facility is amazing though. Believe it cost around 200 million and it is right next to Lake Michigan. Terrific views from it.

North Carolina makes sense. Illinois does not.

I know there is an academic component to it but with as much local talent as there is around that University Georgia Tech should be a much better program than what they have been for the last decade+. Even if you get the "scraps" from what Georgia leaves.

I lived in Georgia for a year. Literally no one is a Tech fan. Plus the “scraps” are still being recruited by 15 other P5 schools.

Fan support isn't a big deal. Look at Baylor.

GT went to the Orange Bowl in 2009 and 2014. It is nothing more than an older coach, that runs the option, staying too long imo.

Moody Center (Texas) is open for business.

10,000 for basketball

15,000 for concerts, due to retractable ceiling panels that will cover the upper deck for hoops but will be removed for other events

The panel frames are visible in this picture, with seating behind them.

The completed panels can be seen in this tweet:

I kinda think it looks weird in the photo with the panels down.
