Has the rot started to creep in?

Need to have each offensive lineman lose 30 pounds and get quicker. Has ISU ever run a sweep where the lineman get out in front of a running back. JFC, the defense is out there waiting for the runner.
Why even run the ball anymore? Our offense needs to become 5 wide air raid like CW is always beating the drum about

That was a rotten play

Kind of reminds me of my great grandparents lake cabin. Just because the dead squirrel stuck in the wall has decomposed enough not to stink anymore, it’s still in there rotting. Might want to get it out of there.

Pretty sure that if you spray some Febreeze in there it’s not rotting.

Matt Campbell is the best coach we’ve ever had, I’m not here to argue that.

However, he has serious limitations. His cap is 7-9 wins. Type of stuff that gets you a statue at Iowa State. But that is obviously our ceiling. It’s reasonable to want more than that, considering we started 7-0 and it’s now looking like we may be lucky to win 2 more games all season.

Not to mention that it’s year 9 and the same mistakes plague this team year after year. Procedure penalties (seriously we have to lead the nation in those), not showing up ready to play, horrific O line play, and god awful playcalling. I think it’s more than fair to question the staff for that crap.

It's OK to be critical of Campbell for recurring issues we as fans see. Only natural to want more. In fact, in some cases, wanting and getting the basics, the obvious, would be nice. Play better, smarter, coach better. Strive to put the players we have in a better position to succeed. Play calling on offense was good at times, terrible at others. The Defense needs to figure things out. Teams are figuring them out.

Succeed, we have, to a point. We have had some success, but yes, we want more. And it is frustrating knowing that we can play and coach better. We are not outclassed individually on the field anymore, for the most part. Sometimes I feel that we are outcoached.

This is why I love this thread and why I made this thread. Sure I’ll take a few lumps once in awhile, but overall I’m going to come out ahead on it.
You made this thread because you knew we’d be 7-2 this year so you could own all of us? Damn you really are playing chess.

Tell me - if you’re JP, what do you do? Gonna need specific names of who you want

You have plenty of company enjoying losses, that’s for sure.
Yeah, I just don’t know that this is even that unique or prescient of a thought. I would guess at any given time you could ask this in all but maybe 20 threads nationwide and get plenty of fans to agree that perhaps they are on a downward trend. Sort of reminds me of the “perma-bears” in the stock market. Eventually such a prognosticator is going to be right, but more often than not, they’re probably early/wrong.
