Arrested Development

I love everything about this show - even the fact it only ran for 3 seasons.
It's the best sitcom I've ever seen, and I'll watch it over and over until the end of time :D

I'm glad it didn't drag on and die a slow painful death like The Office has.

I'm gonna just go ahead and say we're both wrong. Trailer Park Boys is the greatest TV series ever, and I say that fairly confident that I'm the only poster on this board who has watched every episode, special, and movie in that series, so no one can disagree with it .

But that isn't my opinion. It's an F-A-C-T "fact".

Hey now! Don't go assuming!

I do love TPB, and think that it's criminal that it never got any exposure in this country, but between it and Arrested Development... I dunno. While some of the storylines of the last season of TPB were hilarious (e.g. "Swayze Train"), it did kind of start repeating itself and went (in my opinion) ever-slightly downhill.

Maybe part of the reason I like AD just a tiny bit more than TPB is the fact that it got cut off prematurely before it had a chance to get stale.

Sad Sack is just a brilliantly written episode. I have never laughed so hard as the first time I watched and Henry Winkler says, "Nope. You're looking at balls."

The hardest I've ever laughed at TV in a long time was the scene near the end of "Mr F" with the Japanese investors.

"I’m very particular about building codes. And this water tower does not pass muster."

"Who can save our village?"

Oh, and when William Hung and his Hung Jury sing the theme song to Mock Trial with J. Reinholdt. I watched Fast Times at Ridgmont High the other day and couldn't get that song out of my head every time Judge Reinholdt was on screen.

Mmm, I dunno. I guess I didn't get into it as much as It's Always Sunny. I also like a few other shows like Friday Night Lights, Lost, and the first 3 seasons of Nip/Tuck along with Dexter. I have never like The Office either so maybe my humor is just a little different than most.

I don't put Sunny in AD's league.

all this arrested developement talk, im afraid i just blue myself. (there's gotta be a better way to say that)

I never got in to TPB. Tried to watch one episode and it just didn't click. Maybe I will try again.

You either get that show or you don't. It's not bag on anyone's intelligence, the humor just doesn't click for eveyone. For my money there has never been a better show on television. With as excellent a level of writing they were able to maintain through three seasons, I trust the movie (if it ever finally comes to fruition) will be great too.

I can't even begin to choose a favorite character. They are all so full of one-liners.

I have to go with Tobias as my favorite character.

"No mother, I can blow myself."

-Buster...as the camera quickly catches mother getting up from the couch with her head about waist high on Buster. Just about one second of perfect camera work.

The only part of TPB I thought ever got stale was the final movie "Countdown to Liquor Day". I do think the whole shake up of relationships, living arrangements, etc, in season 7 was necessary to keep that (staleness) from happening. I just found the evolution of the characters, while subtle, was absolutely brilliant.

Not the best language, but the real reason the show was cancelled.

Maybe I'm one of those people that is just mentally stunted but I just couldn't really get into this show. I think it's partially because I never wateched it when it was on and the hype machine was so strong it couldn't live up to it.
