***@ Arkansas State Pregame Thread***

I'm going to need to see the math on that one. Arkansas State was just bought by Virginia for 2027 for $1.1M.

Was he planning on losing $5.1M on gameday? Is traveling to Jonesboro free?

Go listen, but his argument is that it’s not a single year thing, but 2 years. ASU got paid nothing to come to Ames last year because ISU is playing at ASU this year. So 2 year cost is $0. To buy ASU once is $1.5-2 million so a total cost of $3-4 million for a G5 game in 2024 & 2025.

They don’t raise ticket prices for 6 or 7 home games, but if they did, that would make up the cost IMO. Idk. It’d be nice to not play at G5 schools

Could he be referring to not having to pay Ark St, but also if they didn’t agree to a home and home, would ISU have had to pay a different opponent?

Also curious on the math here

He said he keeps the prices the same because either we have 7 home games or 6 home games with Iowa at home.

Its supposed to be 93 here on Saturday and the bus thing is just stupid for the sake of being stupid.

Yeah, it sounds fairly inflated, but what do I know. It could be that Pollard gets to discount significantly on what we pay to have them come in for the game in Ames by giving them a return game, over what the market will bear for single buy games and he's including the difference, I suppose.

WATER BOTTLES TO BE ALLOWED!
The ASU athletics office just told me that because of the weather forecast for Saturday they are allowing outside water bottles to be brought in to the football stadium.
Does this mean empty water bottle for filling once you get in or sealed full bottle or both?

Too bad nobody has invented a way to keep the inside of vehicles cool in hot weather...

I had to go back and rewatch this, because it seemed off to me. For those of you who didn’t catch it yet, this is an intentional misquote of what Campbell actually said.

He was actually said it in terms of mobility, throwbity, playmaking standpoint. The quote chopped that right out of the middle.

In short, he’s a better combination of mobility and passer than anyone we’ll yet play. In other words, the passers aren’t terribly mobile.

Lying through omission is still lying. Irresponsible journalism.

Six minute mark.

So what other aspects are you looking at from a QB?

Mobility…check
Throw-ability…..check
Play making…..check

Handoff-ability??
Calling-a-play-in-the-huddle-ability?
Holding-a-clipboard-ability?

I’d say that is EXACTLY what Coach Campbell said.

Best QB running, throwing and play making.

Whether that is true or not is up to discussion. But if that is Coachspeak and he and Heacock can make the players believe this and use this to dominate, then so be it.

Let CMC be CMC.

I mean, seriously. Do you have “I’m not very bright” tattooed on your forehead?

The original quote is literally not what CMC said, dimwit.

Why am I engaging with a moron? I’m done.

May have to block my very first person in all these years…
