Yeah that one was pretty weak. The one bad call I thought the big 12 crew made. Butch Jones even said as much and he ususally doesn't complain about officiating. He said he already filed a complaint with the Big 12 office. But otherwise I was VERY inmpressed with the tight ends. Those guys are legit. Great teams make the critical plays. ISU did that. Of course I will be keeping up and hope you don't mind if I stop in fromtime to time.

Man, I hate the officials in every game and anybody here can tell you I'm always pointing out ISU getting screwed but there were two calls in that game that were INSANELY bad against your team. That hold and then there was a spot on a third down where they were off by like a full yard and a half.

Our fans would have been RIOTING over that holding call and the spot (but you made up for the spot).

For ISU's lack of penalties until late fourth quarter, Cyclones seem to be trending toward very low penalties in general, the one late hold they called on ISU was incredibly obvious.

I said officiating was pretty much irrelevant in the USD blowout. Seems like one game we had the deck stacked (iowa), one game we lucked out a little (today) and KSU it didn’t seem like it had any impact. Then USD nothing would have mattered, they got ran over by a truck.

I had assumed the officiating crew was Sun Belt/SEC. But they were a Big12 crew. So I guess we had SBC refs up there last year.

Just a quick note. Thank you to ISU for coming to Jonesboro. You probably could have bought out the game or enticed us to move it to another location, as Missouri tried to do. It's rare to get a P5 to come to a G5 and it is not unappreciated, I promise. That is why I will pull for ISU the rest of the year and will watch every game and be a cheerleader!

Well, that is why ISU is ranked #14. They made the plays when needed. We didn't. That being said, most ASU fans Ive talked to feel much better about this team now. They played MUCH better in all phases. Those TE's you guys have...geeez. Talked to a lot of ISU fans before and during the game as many were sitting around us. Quite an impressive showing of fans.

I think the Hogs pantsed and embarrassed your guys the week before. And instead of "woe is me" and giving up, they responded by manning up and playing hard against another bigger program and long odds.

That's a really good sign for both the coach and the rest of the season. I think you guys will be OK.

A couple SEC tried last offseason and he turned them down. He's a starter here, maybe 2nd string in SEC.

Do you know anything about his NIL situation at ASU? Curious what a guy like that is getting.

Something that I think has changed a good bit in my lifetime of fandom (I'm 45) is that you don't necessarily need to play at a big-name brand program to have a good shot at the NFL. It still helps in many cases for sure, but if you have NFL talent then the NFL will find you, doesn't matter if you show it at Ohio State or Arkansas State.

Well we have over 60 new players this year, which is pretty typical at the G5 level after NIL started. We do have an NIL site but I'm not sure how much they have, but I'm sure our qb is getting a nice amount.

yeah they embarrassed us because we knew we were much better than that game showed. As anyone could see from that Ole Miss arkansas game they are not good on defense.

I don't like how ISU got dropped in the espn power rankings. Apparently ESPN doesnt think well of Arkansas State, but the voters sure thought it was a good win. They know we are tough at home.
