First of all, for anyone coming to Jonesboro, it will be HOT! So dress appropriately. Second of all, I can pretty much guarantee southern hospitality. Any ISU fan wandering around tailgate city will be offered food and drink. We are not a very good football team, especially on defense. Offensively we are sorta ok, but losing our RB1 and KR1 in the first game was devastating. Rucker is an elite WR that I am sure will be double teamed most of the game. Arkansas exposed a lot of our weaknesses on both sides of the ball. Any questions, please ask.

Believe it or not it gets pretty hot here in Iowa too. Its going to be about as hot as your neck of the woods in Iowa on Saturday. Iowa is a special place weather wise. All the heat of the south in the warm months and all the cold of the frozen north in the winter.

I won’t be there, but other Cyclones will. Thanks for reaching out. Good luck on Saturday’s game.

Thoughts on your defense which seems to not be able to stop the run?

Welcome! Thanks for sharing, I don't know much about Arkansas State admittedly. With the loss of RB1 is the shift to a more pass first mentality? Stretch the field or work laterally?

Thanks for coming on here. How did you guys handle the loss to that other Arkansas school? As fans? As a team?

I thought it would be to our advantage if it went the way it did.

Been to Arkansas once in my life. Played golf on a course that had a literal cave in the middle of the fairway. It was awesome!

NW Arkansas is one of my favorite places to getaway that's less than a day's drive. The real Ozarks, IMO. Excellent mountain biking, great beer and food scene, incredible hiking for the middle of the country, etc.

I realize that ain't Jonesboro, but Arkies are good people and I'm sure anyone going will have fun.

My brother in Christ, we get ALL the weather in Iowa. 100 degree heat? Check. Excessive humidity? Check. -30 air temp? Check. Pummeling blizzards? Check. Tornadoes? Check. Derechoes? Check. Year long droughts? Check. Catastrophic floods? Check.

Everything but earthquakes.

Good luck to your squad and thanks for stopping by.

What is the general feeling among Arkansas State fans for the game? Is there excitement to be hosting a ranked P4 school?

From what I gather, that Arkansas game was a real kick in the nuts and they are on low fuel.

This is what I saw on their boards.

There's a weird thing I've noticed where when we play FCS schools, their message boards always think they're going to win.

When we play G5 schools, they rarely feel very confident.

Thought on your QB.

We will be at the Miss St game with our granddaughter...I expect it will be just as hot. At least that game is at 5.00 pm so maybe it will have cooled down some. Maybe!

Anyhoo, welcome!

We can't stop much of anything. We have decent athletes but very poor schemes. We have had the best recruiting classes in the SBC the last few years but it's not paying dividends. Our DBs play well off the ball so underneath routes will work well. Most all ASU fans are predicting a blowout. Many were very disappointed in the poor effort against a not good Arkansas tram last week.

Yes. You will definitely see a lot of underneath routes, quick dump off passes. We will run it some to keep the defense honest but we usually don't get much there. Our qb will do a few keepers. He isn't a true dual threat, though. He does have good arm strength and will throw some deep balls

Well it was the first ever meeting in football, so it was hyped up. aIt was the last contracted game in Little Rock for Arkansas. It was also the first sell out in War Memorial Stadium for them in years. Needless to day we came out flat and spotted them 14 pts pretty fast. Things settled down somewhat after that, but the combination of them having a good qb and us playing awful defensive schemes spelled doom.
