Are we mad?

Precisely.

This is the type of stuff Iowa fans like to poke fun at us over. I lol'd at the fact it was coming from their AD and they are acting like it is the greatest thing ever.

LMAO

Iowa's never been in a position where they have to sell a mediocre product before, either. Compared to some of the stuff that U of I's marketing department has put out in the past, this is pretty neat.

The first one came to mind when the ad first came up.:jimlad:

I don't think it is nuts at all. May, Payne, and Fuller are all pretty good players and they are two freshman and one sophomore. They are bringing 2 or 3 pretty good high school recruits in for next year, and if he is a good coach then it is possible.

I disagree. They are mediocre at best. Plus, I forgot about the whole 96 team expansion thing, so maybe they will make the tourney after all.

Yeah, because we all know that Iowa is a dynasty in all sports and their basketball games are among the most attended in the nation...right.

If you want to compare them to all players they are average. But payne and may were only freshman. give them two years and they will be pretty good. Evan Turner thinks May could be a star in the big ten so I think i will listen to his opinion. Oh and I forgot about Gatens who is another solid player. We didn't have any freshman that performed as well as theirs. So they have a good young base and good coaching and a few more players they could totally make it. It only takes a couple years to turn a program around.

Don't tell McDermott that.

I guess we'll have to see how their young guys turn out.

If they do turn around fast it is going to be even worse for McD, which is hard to believe that things can get worse. But if we are still losing and their new coach turns it around. Look out cause people are going to be picking up their pitchforks and heading to ames.

Frannie is not coming in and running and gunning with those guys. To a man, they have almost no handle. Iowa's players are, for the most part, really bad. The new coach is aware of that.

From that site, click the link entitled "What does MAD mean?" I actually laughed it was so cheesey.

When you read this, use a dramatic voice:

"Let's" - Everyone needs to get involved. Hawkeye fans, friends of hawkeye fans, blah blah blah....haha.

"Be" - We won't try, we will be. OK?

"Mad" - This is a term for the madness that is the month of March. Seriously?

"Again" - Iowa was a regular participant in the NCAA tournament at one time. haha.

Sorry, this is just really really dorky. It almost reminds me of a preview for a spoof movie.

we only beat them by 10 points and they have mostly freshman on their team. They won as many conference games as we did with mostly freshman. Yeah they have some bad players but not all of them, see cougil. Also Fran doesn't run a system like Missouri's where they press the whole time. They score around 75-77 points a game that is probably middle of the pack as far as points wise in the big ten or big 12. He said he wants to get up and down the floor more, well that is in comparison to LIck who doesn't know what a fast break is.

Yes we are.

Then we're awake...but we're very confused.

Iowa State fans are not really in a position to make fun of any schools marketing ploys.

Maybe not in a position to make fun of their state of the basketball program, no, but their marketing ploys? Yes. ISU has had some solid marketing initiatives over the past few years. A picture of Chizik? That proves nothing regarding ISU's marketing successes or failures.

When it comes to marketing, most of the stuff out of ISU is typically about a forty bazillion times better than the stuff Iowa puts out. This is one of Iowa's better efforts, even if it is somewhat disjointed.
