And a huge shocker here...

(CNN) -- A spokesman for 21 international monitors who on Friday visited the Malaysia Airlines crash site in eastern Ukraine said the team wasn't "given the access that we expected."
Michael Bociurkiw, spokesman for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe team, told CNN's Christiane Amanpour the group was "only allowed access to about a 200-meter strip" for about 75 minutes at the site, which he said was guarded by armed men in uniform. "One of our top priorities was to find out what happened to the black boxes. No one was there to answer those questions," he said.

The comparisons between Nazi Germany and Russia today can be made though. Basically a dictator is control of a military power who annexes land he believes to be "ethnically" German/Russian (respectively). not a good situation.

Yes, and who also seeds ethnicity to further the cause, and foments discord among the population (along with that area being an original part of a greater whole before being redrawn by previous events).

nice. I wasn't familiar with that. I was more just pointing out Godwin's law as a joke, because it's such a similar situation that you almost have to make the comparison.

didn't Germany also host the Olympics shortly before they went cray-cray? And have anti-Jew sentiments running high the way Russia had anti-gay actions going?
I know I've also recently heard how Russian nationalism is so high right now even though the economy is not doing well which I think was also the case with Germany.

Not that I think WWIII is in the works. But the similarities are a bit creepy.

Been to Russia and Kyev several times since this began. Flown over that airspace in a similar aircraft at about 33000 feet multiple times. Knew the Russians were claiming that separatists captured one of their (the Russian's not the Ukrainian's) SA-11 batteries from across the borders several days before this shoot down. Yeah right "captured". Putin and the majority of the Russian people, at least those around Moscow, want everything the Soviet Union had back. As some of you noted, their news broadcasts are really eye opening. The Ukrainians are scared the Russians are coming and they know they can't stop them. They've also seen that the West does not have the leadership or will to oppose Putin. Maybe that changes now. As far as the separatists, they are the minority even in the east, but they have the guns. Many are ethnic Russians moved their during the Soviet era.

seems legit.

http://news.yahoo.com/rebel-leader-gives-bizarre-account-plane-crash-182256709.html

The pro-rebel website Russkaya Vesna on Friday quoted Igor Girkin as saying he was told by people at the crash site that "a significant number of the bodies weren't fresh," adding that he was told they were drained of blood and reeked of decomposition.

I mean, I'm no expert here, but it seems like blaming this on Ukraine is the easier conspiracy compared to "Malaysian Airlines loaded dead bodies onto a suicide mission plane to crash near the border and make us look bad."

They're not doing great, but they do enjoy a real resurgence with higher fuel prices.

Precisely why all of the "Bush is Hitler" and "Obama is Hitler" and "next president is Hitler" morons should shut up. When situations arise that actually do mirror Nazi Germany in some way people just scoff at the typically idiotic Hitler comparisons, and it's almost hard to blame them.

This just in...Dutch banks are reporting that they are receiving charges on credit cards looted from the cadavers at the crash site. What are these birds buying? More missiles?

Not Malaysia Airlines, but another plane appears to have gone down near Mali, flying from Burkina Faso to Algeria. 116 people on board.
