Fickell to ND would be great for two reasons.
1. Fickell to ND means they didn't hire Campbell.
2. Fickell leaving Cincinnati should help us move up the new Big 12 food chain.

I'd rather they hire Freeman and that leaves Fickell as the potential #1 OSU candidate.

Plus Freeman seems like an awesome coach. He'll probably end up at Cincy if they hire Fickell

So I'm going to say something crazy - shocking I knnow.

First and foremost - I hope CMC stays here forever... but the idea that he won't be on the shortlist seems mildly insulting at the same time.

Like again, I don't want him to go and was prepared to block any and all exits... but hes a dang good coach who should be a short list

but if it works out to be positive for us in that he stays even longer in Ames, I'm all for that. Sign me up - even if I think they're dumb for not thinking he's qualified I'm more than happy to have him here in Ames

perhaps..... but also, Cincinnati has been a decent to good program. Kelly won there, Fickel has won there, Dantonio won there I believe or was that Narduzzi? Its not like they're going to disappear.

I know it wasn't the main point of your post...but don't you think Freeman will keep his options open a little bit...and Ohio State will hire him to be DC? It just seems that he will stick around the midwest as he could almost name any assistant job he wants and it would be offered.

Oh, I haven't the faintest idea what he'll do. I just meant that if he does accept a job at a different school, it makes our wait that much more agonizing. Because then if Fickell falls through and Freeman is gone, every candidate on their list moves up two spots. If Campbell was their #3, he then becomes their #1.

Ohio State has the money and would be willing to spend on Freeman when/if Day leaves...even if Freeman is the ND coach! This past week shows us that anything is possible in the college football world!

Sure. He sleeps with your daughter every night at your house? Maybe you will end up with more dependents.
About 20 years ago my wife's cousin got knocked up at 16. Her parents thought it would be a good idea to have the BF live with them to take care of the baby. She got knocked up again about a year later.

On the bright side they are married, and both kids out of the house and graduated from college by 40. So that's something.

Im pretty sure CMC told them no, or they arent interested. CMC is really trying to build something here. Time to hit that recruiting trail like they haver have before, with a fresh dose of marketing preceeding the coaches.

No one is “gone” when it comes to ND and OSU.

Consistent success in the CUSA-post Miami/VT Big East- AAC is easier imo.

I see them as similar to WVU and TCU additions. I don’t expect them to crater, as this conference is going to have incredible parity. But the history stuff with no context distorts

It all depends how short the short list is. If the list is 3, and he's 4th, it's hardly an insult. Not to mention that we don't know the list. We just know what some guy tweeted. Aren't we better than that by now? I am.

You're not in G7 anymore, unless you have an RV pass.
Getting off topic, but I thought G10 would be the RVs (thus the gravel/paving) and G7 would stay grass for cars? Or do I have that backwards? I haven't read the press release in a while, and googling failed me. I just remember thinking I would be parking in the same place after the changes.
