Food for thought.

BK said he doesnt want to coach forever. He said he want to retire with a pina colada in hand etc.

Rumor has it LSU is talking 12 to 14 million per year money over the last few days.

BK could take a contract at LSU for say 14 mil for 5-8 years and be set for retirement. Whether he succeeds or fails. He gets that. And that is retirement money...on your own personal island with your own personal bartender...Money.

Jsb now thinks TJ is leaving

I mean won't it be funny when in the nearish future, I, the person that did not want TJ, will be freaking out about him leaving? I mean I almost look forward to it for the comedy aspect. And you know I'll do it. I'll be on here waxing poetic about how great TJ is and how we'll never have it this good again. I'm guessing that will be in in around 6 years!

But to be clear, football success around here is a lot more elusive than basketball success. And being worried about this job is perfectly legitimate.

Also I don't think the 7-5 thing is going to matter one bit. The Chiz got Auburn. ND will take Campbell at 7-5.

I get you are trying to be all zen like. But we've literally never had 5 years like we just had. 100 years of football and nothing that good has ever happened.
Very true. I'm not an elder statesmen but old enough to have been thru the Walden years etc... but just because it had not happened before does not mean that it wouldn't happen again.

Of course, I'd much rather just keep Coach Campbell

It’s not about being zen, it’s being rational.

Do you know how many coaches have been hired by Iowa St of the total coaching pool? An extremely small sample. Even more, about 80% of that 100 isn’t relevant, although some schools can live off past success.

If DMac walks into the situation left by CMC, he’s having a very similar record imo.

He is and I’ll betcha supper at Whatcha Smokin that he ain’t turning this one down
So two things... how exactly do you know that he's a candidate for a job that came open 20 minutes ago or something (relatively) speaking. Sure, AD's always have a short list but still, curious.

Second, a candidate doesn't mean you're going to get offered. I interviewed a bunch for a crap ton of jobs. So I have a wealth of experience as a candidate... while I have turned a few jobs down, far more offered the job to someone else
