Fantastic episode. A glimpse of motivation for the eye ball creature as well.

Yep, and interesting to see it square off against the alien. Seems to more than hold its own somehow tooFantastic episode. A glimpse of motivation for the eye ball creature as well.
I have mixed reviews about the show so far. I don’t think it holds up to other recent work from FX like Shogun, however I do like Wendy, Hermit, and Walton Goggins’s character.
I think the only real diss of the show is the character Boy Kavalier. We are suppose to believe this guy started his company at 6 years old and is one of the smartest people to ever live and out competing other companies in his teens.
However, the show hasn’t once showed him doing anything intelligent imo. I have a belief that I call the Tyrion Lannister problem(from the later seasons of GoT) which is that a character only appears as smart as the writer is. I think just think writing the character is probably the hardest on the show since the threshold to show the smartest kid on earth is a very difficult task.
Also I think the character annoys me because personally I think empathy and kindness are tied to intelligence. Smart people tend to be more empathic and emotional intelligent. His character doesn’t show an ounce of thinking of others which makes me view him subconsciously as dumb.
On the flip side I think the writers and actors are doing marvelous with showing kid minds in adult bodies. I really enjoy that storyline.
im really curious who the human victim of the egg will be if that plot line develops. My guess is one of the married scientists.
I really didn't like Prometheus and I think you hit on why. The one scene where the two guys who spent the whole move scared of their shadow only to see the new lifeform pop up and be like "Oh, can we pet it?" and instantly die. So silly. The only thing that bothers me about Prometheus and Covenant is that the crew/humans are written to behave too stupidly. Scientists breaching basic protocols all over the place; people acting way too naively at key points; complete lack of self awareness. While the leading figures show some depth, the supporting characters come off as oversimplifications. At least that's how I see it.
The eyeball Xenomorph is very interesting to me. It looked like he was trying to warn the science officer of the leeches and later fought the xenomorph.
Reddit has some theories about it, i saw people call it a xenomorph hunter and that zenomorph’s second mouth could evolutionarily designed to scoop out the eye parasite from other xenomorphs.
I wonder if Wendy will develop a way to communicate with the eye parasite xenomorph.
And when the Eye controls an alien?!?!Yep, and interesting to see it square off against the alien. Seems to more than hold its own somehow too
I'm having a hard time enjoying it. I only watched half of last week's episode before I got bored and went on to something else. I still have the other half and tonight's episode to watch and I'm not looking forward to it. It's the kind of thing I'll watch when there's nothing else on.Damn, this series is so good. That sheep is just so awesome in the creepiest of ways.
Just watched Covenant, and having just watched Prometheus I REALLY enjoyed it. IMO its really just a single movie. Finally gave the real background on the alien origins I was thinking Prometheus would provide. And Fassbender/David is tremendous.
Saw a TikTok breakdown saying that a lot of people misinterpreted Alien as a slasher movie when in reality its more mystery. There's more gore than a classic "mystery" movie, but in reality the viewer is constantly left wondering/discovering along with the characters. Discusses why some of the later Alien movies moved away from that (Resurrection, Romulus), and how Alien: Earth is a return to form.
Edit: took a while but I found it...
Work travel has ramped up again so watching more on flights. Burned through Terminal List: Dark Wolf the last couple of weeks and started this series on my current trip. Watched the first three episodes. I don’t know how much I like it but I am hooked. So much they can do with what they are building. Looking forward to finishing it.
I also want to give credit to the actor that plays Smee! He is so good and the only one that is completely believable as a child. He really sells the premise for me.
