This is going to sound really negative, but why the hell would any transfer come here right now? You only have a precious year or two of college basketball left - what about Iowa State's program right now would make you feel like it's the place to spend that last year or two?
The program is in a damaged state right now.
Honestly, Yeah. It's probably time to look at the state the program is in. What can Iowa State offer than nobody else can right now? We're more than one player away from a tournament bid right now and there isn't much more Steve can offer right now other than playing time, which plenty of others have. And if you're good you're gonna get that anyways. There's no reason for a good grad transfer to pick us
This morning, I caught the end of the 2015 ISU vs. Iowa game where Monte hit a last second shot to win it after being down the whole game. That team had Monte, Thomas and Niang, all high school guys that developed through the years here.
I'm now beginning to think that ISU is in 'long-play' mode where we simply have to recruit better and develop our guys. I hope to be surprised, but it seems thus far that we're going to have to go with what we have on campus plus some warm transfer/juco bodies that aren't gonna shock the world by any means, but be practice bodies.

If Prohm doesn’t land just 1 Top tier transfer with instant starter minutes.. in big 12 conf.. with multiple kids having gone to NBA then there are much bigger issues going on.
ive been supporting Prohm all they last year and have wanted him to succeed but next years team cannot win with Beverly or Holden type transfers.. heck Nixon type transfers..

We've committed to another year of horrific basketball with no hope when we retained Prohm.
It will be a lame duck year, he'll hopefully be relieved of his duties, and we'll move on.
