We’ve had 4 QB’s drafted in the history of the ISU football program. Unless Dekkers wins the Heisman this year (he won’t), he’s not going to leave college early. Especially not to be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round
I agree he is probably not going to be in the 2023 draft.
My comment was reacting to a post someone made about Dekkers pulling a Hunter if he has a banner year. I was saying Dekkers would make more money as a mid-round draft pick vs. entering the portal.
Getting Kohl is great news however I just don't get as excited anymore given the world of transfer portal and NIL. There is always the chance of de-commitment or transfer before he even plays. Hope I'm wrong but just being realistic.
Realistic would be noticing that none of our football players have done such a thing.
Unless you count Isheem, who realistically had been beaten out anyway.
IMO we will/would see this more often with guys who have no ties to ISU…like Tyrese Hunter. JJ had other good offers, took his time and did his due diligence, and still chose ISU. Then you add in that he’s been a lifelong ISU fan…I would be shocked if he transfers*
*due to it being an NIL thing

So, have the Hawks officially said that they didn't want him yet? Seriously, great to have a legacy recruit with great potential.
That's what I don't get, how can we expect to keep him here or even get him to signing day? I guess he grew up a cyclone so maybe a bad example.

Even if JJ isn’t all that he is hyped to be, the way he carries himself and acts as a leader is evident. It seems to me he would do well at bringing in other recruits along with him.

And Bandhauer set several Cyclone passing record as well as led the league in passing yards one year.
He is now Doctor Bandhauer and teaches Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State. I think they have named one of their labs after him. Just another dumb jock, I guess.
I swear that pop culture needs to look up the definition of “hype”. It isn’t what people seem to think it is.
