Nobody in the country is talking about Purdy like they were about Seneca when he played.... period. Just watch this video from back then.....

Unfortunately, I watched the second half of that season too. The one in which we gave UCONN its first div 1 victory ever.

He was before my time, but George Amundson was the 1972 Big 8 Player of the Year - the year that Johnny Rogers won the Heisman Trophy. Think about that!

Troy Davis is the best Iowa State football player I have ever seen in person. The last time I saw him play at Iowa State was the 378 yard game vs. Mizzou in 1996.

Seneca was great too, and the last time I saw him in person was the 2002 game vs. Mizzou when he set the Iowa State single game all-purpose yardage record of 493!

I love me some Brock too!

Agree. I saw Seneca in person singlehandedly beat Iowa at Kinnick the year that was Iowa's only loss of the entire year.
When you were at a game that Seneca was playing in, he stood out as probably the best athlete on the field.... and it usually wasn't that close honestly. But on top of that, he could complete every throw too.... even on a dead run.

I might have to stick with Kelechi Osemele though as the best player to ever wear an ISU uniform.

The highs with Seneca were as good as they get. The lows with him were incredibly low, for example, UConn that same year.

And believe me I love Seneca but there is some rose colored glasses when it comes to his history at ISU. For the record I was actually in college when he was playing here and drove to Boise for the Humanitarian Bowl. I was front and center for his entire career and loved it but Brock is better.

Put Brock on the 2002 team and Seneca on this year's team, do the records change?

He’s the best QB in school history and will be on the Mt Rushmore of ISU players. Everything else is semantics.
I had to look up who were the QBs when I was in school, as I honestly couldn't remember. Brett Oberg, Chris Pedersen, Bob Utter and Marvelous Marv Seiler!

I disagree a lot worse. Seneca was great. It's not a slight to Seneca to think Purdy is better. I highly doubt Sage is taking shots at him for example.

Twins is on a year or 2 troll of Iowa fans about Purdy so he has to do what he always does and completely oversell the argument.
