Not sure what you consider a long run but in the videos I had in my op he had at least half a dozen that went for 20 yards or more.
I know he had several 20-40 yards runs, but don’t recall any runs over 60 yards. However, I could be wrong as I am going off memory. If you have a couple of 60 plus yard runs, it can really boost your totals.
I see where your coming from. I guess we vary on what we both consider big runs. Anything 20 or more is a big run to me.
I was a Frosh standing in the student section about 7th or 8th row that day.
Byron Hanspard. Absolute joke he didn't win the heisman, and an extra slap in the face he didn't even win the doak. Unfortunately the heisman rarely goes the the best player, it goes to the best QB/RB on a top 10 team.
There was a nice crowd there that day. Announced attendance was 43,000.
Hahahaha, a 10 man front and he goes for 30. All I remember hearing, why he didn’t win the Heisman was because no one tried to stop him we were so bad. That dude knew how to carry the rock.
That's actually huge for that era. I remember thinking 45k was a lot of people during the Seneca years.
I went to a lot of games back then, but I don't think I made it to that one. Read about it in The Big Peach the next day.
The outcome of the game was almost secondary in those years. It really was about the TD yard o meter.
Best college running back ever. Nobody can convince me otherwise.
I don’t know who this fella is off to the side, but I feel like with that look I need to respect the hell out of him.
The defense that year was really really bad. Had a good offensive line and obviously Davis so the offense was pretty good. Defense was the killer.

Nah, I couldn’t grow a good beard until like 8-10 years after that photo was taken.
And to carry it that much and dude never got hurt.
How long has it been where an ISU running back had that much room to run. Breece had some, but not that many.
