Yeah, not the spot you want to be.
Exactly where the Steelers have been...since the season they picked Roethlisberger! UGH...certainly takes some luck to get an instant superstar at that point! It can happen...but it takes other organizations to pass on those guys...

Hoping my New York football Giants take another edge guy this year with the 5 pick. God knows we only have Thib, Burns and Carter. <insert eyeroll emoji>

Don't they usually like to find backs lower in the Draft?
There is ONE difference maker at running back in this draft, that is Love, if KC does not take him to take the pressure off of Mahones than they are nor serious about doing it. They have not had an above average rb since Priest Holmes and that was a decade ago. I get you do not want to over draft for a RB, but if you can get one as good as Love at 9, you have to take him.

Hunt was well above average in his first season and a half. Led the league in rushing his rookie year and was a top-10 back before they cut him in his second year. He was a 3rd rounder.

Unsure if I want them to take Love at 9 if he falls to them, but they certainly have to stop waiting until round 7 and hope that their scratch ticket philosophy on RBs works this time.

If you pick a RB in the top half of the first round you'd better hope he turns out to be a Saquon, Bijan, CMC type difference maker, it's reaching IMO.

The one glaring need this offense has is RB, if the best one in the draft, and the highest rated one to come out in the past few years is still on the board you have to take him. Many have him as a top 5 talent in this draft, just too good of a player at a position of need for KC to not take if he is there.

Not a Giants fan, and I don’t think they should take an Edge, but Carter seems like a headache off the field.

Maybe the new staff can get him in line, but I could see him being another George Pickens. Not sure you can really count on him for the future. I’d almost explore trading him.

Assuming Kelce retires, I think the Chiefs have holes at TE, OL and RB. I also don’t think you’re receiving corps are that good either honestly.

And your QB is aging and just had an ACL. Might want to trade up to take his replacement :p

The OL is fine, people look at them the last couple of weeks and forget they were playing the 5th and 6th tackles. O line is area of depth, not need for KC. We need a running back, either take Love or sign Hall, if you want to go for defense in the draft. They need a rush end, to pressure on the QB, and if Kelsey retires, take a TE. Whoever they take has to be a difference maker with the 9th pick, just too high to take a player and miss on them.

They shouldn't have taken him in the first place with last year's high pick. They find the biggest area of strength on the entire team and picked another one of those guys instead of addressing areas of actual need. Was a dumb pick.

Jamaal Charles was the last elite back they had after Holmes and they too him in the 3rd round in 2008 so yeah been awhile.

Not sure which route they go but if it's not RB with Love will probably be an Edge rusher on defense. Chiefs haven't drafted this high in a long time so usually where they are at late in the 1st round they tend to draft the best available player at a position of need even if it's not the position they need the most to improve at. Could see them even trade down to pick up another draft pick if they key in on someone they think they can get later. Chiefs don't have their full allotment of picks after sending some in trades. Seen that they have rounds 1-5 and should be getting a compensatory 5th rounder for losing Justin Reid. If they really like someone they think they can get in the teens I could see them trading down to pick up another pick even and still get their main target in the 1st. Draft is always fluid but with the Chiefs cap situation they've needed to build/reload through the draft because of all the $ they have committed to their top players.

Picks 19-24 are now set:

19. Carolina
20. Dallas from Green Bay
21. Pittsburgh
22. LA Chargers
23. Philadelphia
24. Cleveland from Jacksonville
