MLB: ***2026 MLB Season Thread***

I think Mets will sit most of everybody in Game 2. Play a Playoff game in about 24 hours.

I agree that's the smart thing to do. But rationality can go out the window when rivalry is in play... especially with how miserable the Braves have made the Mets over the years.

It would be the Mets thing to do to try to eliminate the Braves and have something happen to mess up their own postseason chances.

Crazy that the Mets and Braves and Diamondbacks all finished with 89 wins but only two made the postseason. Lots of close races to finish the regular season.

Kind of funny the Mets clinched first, but are seeded lower than the Braves.

Not liking my Yankees chances of getting to the WS. AL is not that tough this season but Yanks are over confident and complacent. They have some brawn but no heart and no brains. Well, other than Cole, he has heart.

The complacency and over confidence starts with Boone. They didn't even make the play-offs last year and Boone acts like they are world beaters. They rode an early hot streak to the title but have been a .500 club for three months. They will never win a championship with Boone at the helm unless Judge and Soto both go absolutely crazy in post season.

That was an impressive pass. If he didn't drop that right in there a defender was all over that. Usually you only see those if the play is wide open.

The Astros giving this Tigers pitching staff an early 3-0 lead was not a wise choice - not when most teams haven't even been able to hit off of them since Aug 11.

Watching the Detroit/Houston game. This is the first time I have noticed a network showing win probability on the screen scoreboard.

I find win probability pretty meaningless. But ESPN loves to promote it! Why? Does it serve some purpose for in-game betting.

Yes, this game has become boring. Houston ain't touching Kubal.
