CB Bucknor is not having a good first week with ABS and Replay challenges. Can you imagine how bad it would be for Angel Hernandez to have ABS fix his notoriously bad strike zone? CB is almost having a "hold my beer" moment. This replay the other night I dunno what he was looking at, the runner clearly touched 1B

Guy has caught a lot of guff lately (deservedly) but hope he is alright. Took a shot right here:

We'll have to see if the bullpen can complete the shutout but Yanks kid pitcher Cam Schlittler
pitched 6.1 innings of 2 hit shutout ball today. Neither he or Max Fried has given up a run in their two starts.

Edit: Bullpen nearly coughed up a hairball but didn't quite manage to blow the game. Bullpen ain't great.

The Reds have started their April swoon getting clubbed by the Pirates two days in a row @ G.A.B.P. It was just a matter of time. / sarcasm

People calling out CB Bucknor with ABS (and rightly so) … but can you imagine Eric Gregg under this system? The wild tapping of ball caps when he calls a strike in the opposite batter’s box …

Speaking of which, I’ve seen in some online umpire discussion groups (I used to umpire a little youth baseball, don’t judge me) that there’s a trend in youth/high school baseball for players to tap their caps if they disagree with a ball/strike call. Kinda like the batter drawing a line in the dirt with their bat if they didn’t like the strike call. Even though there’s no ABS or challenge in place, some umpires are a bit cheesed at this among youth players.
