MLB: ***2026 MLB Season Thread***

Why the hell do you throw the ball home? There's 2 outs, bases are NOT loaded, and you have a better shot at getting the runner at first. That's the kind of play most players have worked out of their game by the time they've left Little League.

EDIT - the catcher was even pointing for the ball to be thrown to first.

Bases were loaded. But he panicked.

I think that was a Little League panic reaction moment. Throw home to stop the run. Great game. Horrible play to end it.

Yep, he’s thinking “bases loaded, force at home, if it comes to me just throw home, GET THE EASY OUT AT HOME” and then when he initially fumbled the ball and the easy play was to first, his brain is still screaming “HOME, THROW HOME, THROW HOME”

As it happened I immediately exclaimed “You idiot!” but it’s a totally understandable brain glitch in the moment. I feel sorry for him.

Banana ball coming to Kinnick??? Totally get why with the hospital and it's awesome for those kids. But if I win the ticket lottery, I'm going to have to go back to a place I swore on all things holy I'd never go back to, aren't I?

So I admittedly don't watch alot of baseball besides the Cubs, but do teams just not do situational hitting anymore?

Seattle is up there taking home run cuts on every pitch when all they needed was some contact.
