***2026 Minnesota Vikings***

And the blunders were largely in the first draft, just a couple months after Kwesi and KOC were hired. That draft was the first impression given to fans, and some of that negativity is still present in some fans today. The NFL is all about what have you done for me lately, not what have you done for me 3 years ago. Kwesi and KOC contracts should be extended and they should be paid their worth. They have done an amazing job outside of the first draft when they were just getting their feet wet
KOC is definitely going to get a big pay day. He’s probably one of the best coaches in the league and it’s showing. I’m starting to think he was the mastermind behind the Rams prior success and SB win.

Agreed. Kwesi has absolutely killed it in free agency. This year's additions have been incredible, and they're positioned to spend some money this off-season, as well.

KOC is going to cost an arm and a leg, but will be well worth it. He's proven himself to be one of the best coaches in the league, and the type of guy that people want to come play for. From his development of QBs, to his post game speeches to the open mic moments they've captured, with him encouraging opposing quarterbacks, he's establishing a reputation as a hell of a motivator and player's coach.

The whole roster can't be structured a whole lot better from a money perspective. You have a team with some cap space still left for this season that's playing to get a #1 seed. Next season, is top-10 in cap space available and goes directly from a stupid-high dead cap number, down pretty damn close to zero. That's insanity coming off the season they're having now. They are primed to reload and run it back.

When you consider the contract and cap mess Kwesi walked into defensively, it's pretty amazing the turnaround. Getting Flores probably was the biggest move, but some really efficient moves to cost-effectively upgrade all three levels of the defense.

Kwesi gets an F for his first two draft picks for the Vikes. For other 95% of his job, I don't see how he can't get an A.

While I thought there was reason for some optimism with Darnold because he'd only been in crap situations outside of his SF season, I still thought they'd be a lot closer to the 1st pick than the 1st seed.

Detroit will now play Minnesota for the 1 seed. The winner gets a bye, the loser gets the NFC South, so a bye.https://x.com/AnnieAgar

With 1 playoff win to show for all that money. Borderline criminal.

Haven’t Cowherd and his crowd suggested that the 49ers dump Purdyand get Cousins? They’ve also suggested it is easy to find another Kurt Warner as an undrafted free agent. Or another 7th rounder as a solution.

I've seen some suggest that Jones was elevated from the practice squad because they will receive a comp pick if he signs elsewhere next season. Pretty damn smart.

That's absolutely true. It's a good move on their part. Might not amount to anything, but they could use draft picks next year

Looks like one year of good QB play with the Vikings is estimated to result in a 4 year $224 million contract for 4 years. $56 million per year. Darnold will get more than Purdy after Purdy beat Darnold out and took the 49ers to the Super Bowl. And Purdy played with a third string OL and second string WR’s and RB’s this year.

That’s just how NFL contracts work. A 7th year guy taking a team to the doorstep of the top seed of course is going to get more than a 3rd year guy still on his rookie contract, even if he took his team to the Super Bowl. It’s set up that way intentionally.

IMO it is Draft Bias. Otherwise give credit to the supporting cast and coaching staff. Darnold is a product of the system. Look at Kirk Cousins.
