I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but Woods played on 8 Ryder CupsEveryone advocating for Woods to be captain probably needs to reassess.
I have a hard time believing he wants to donate that much of his time.
He called it an exhibition when he first started playing in it ( it’s certainly not taken as such now).
Know how many winning Ryder Cup teams he played on?

On paper it sounds good but seems like this could be similar to Jordan being an owner. Being the greatest player doesn't mean he will be the best coach. He played on 8 teams and was on ONE winning team (1999)
Only 2 of those appearances did he earn more than half of the points he was able to win (2006, 2010)

From what I've read, since it's an amiable exit, he wouldn't have to repay any money already received or pay an exit fee. He just wouldn't get paid the remainder of his contract which is somewhere between $20-25 million. He made over $100 million on LIV over the past three years. He'll probably end up back on the PGA Tour by 2027. Pretty sweet deal from his perspective. Make a huge paycheck for three years work then get back on the tour.Wonder how much of his upfront money he has to give back?
