If memory serves they did something similar in Italy, so wouldn't be surprising but is disappointing.

Everyone advocating for Woods to be captain probably needs to reassess.

I have a hard time believing he wants to donate that much of his time.

He called it an exhibition when he first started playing in it ( it’s certainly not taken as such now).

Know how many winning Ryder Cup teams he played on?

I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but Woods played on 8 Ryder Cups

Reddit thinks it's legit

It's just so inexcusable. The difference between the two teams was putting on days one and two. Could 5-10 of those near misses gone in with more practice leading up to the weekend? It's not hard to believe it would have flipped the score.

He played on 8 teams and was on ONE winning team (1999)

Only 2 of those appearances did he earn more than half of the points he was able to win (2006, 2010)

On paper it sounds good but seems like this could be similar to Jordan being an owner. Being the greatest player doesn't mean he will be the best coach.

1.1 billion pounds which is 1.4 billion dollars
Unfortunately money really doesn’t matter here. The Saudi PIF has assets of almost $1 trillion. So losing a billion is basically irrelevant to them.

More about if they want to keep dragging LIV along or not

Yet another major back surgery for Tiger:

I found myself coming back to the golf thing tonight. Had just enough personality, a cool format, and other than IWCC football and a hockey game I wanted to see not much else going on.

I think the tgl stuff is cool from a tech perspective but it doesn’t hold my interest the same as this format did

Wonder how much of his upfront money he has to give back?

From what I've read, since it's an amiable exit, he wouldn't have to repay any money already received or pay an exit fee. He just wouldn't get paid the remainder of his contract which is somewhere between $20-25 million. He made over $100 million on LIV over the past three years. He'll probably end up back on the PGA Tour by 2027. Pretty sweet deal from his perspective. Make a huge paycheck for three years work then get back on the tour.
