Maybe teams are finally, actually learning that burning ludicrous amounts of draft capital to move up a bit in the first round is a massive gamble that rarely pays off?
I feel like it has more to do with the talent available. There’s one “sure thing” QB available, and the Titans aren’t trading.

If the Giants don’t take Sanders, we may see some movement then. Otherwise, everyone seems to feel that, one way or another, a good player that fits their needs will fall to them.

Giants signed Wilson and Winston. Makes me think they are gonna wait until next year to draft Manning. I still think Sanders goes #2 to Cleveland, where he can sit behind Watson and Pickett this year and develop, and then be their franchise QB after that. The Browns have to move on from Watson as soon as possible and they have to have a QB ready to take over for him.

What hype?

He was an anonymous low three star recruit. He had a nice freshman season. He built himself from there.
"What hype?"

Jaylen was "hyped" on CF regularly, via posters-staff (freshman-soph years).
As for the 3* thing. Pretty sure we've learned, *'s are often meaningless, whether fb or bb.
Should I start with 4* Scates, or 4* Gaines, or 4* ... ? (lineman outta Council Bluffs), Hunter D, Jirhl Brock (sp).
Could add, re: * system, our bestest, have been 3*'s (the list is endless, whether fb or bb).
Glad af to see, Jaylen developed to the point of being mentioned as a fairly high draft pick. Given time, he evolved in a damn big way.
Can't help but to toss in. Great young man.

Bring up David, I lose all objectivity.
My favorite Cyclone EVER, for reasons well beyond hard-nosed running back.
CMC talks culture n stuff, rightly so.
David embodied, minus words.
Ps. If I recall right, DM was a low 3*, recruited only, by pretty much us.

It seems Higgins and Noel are in great shape for Round 2. Porter is round 2/3. If a team gets him in Round 3, that will be great value
As a Commanders fan my hope is for Higgins in the 2nd, Porter in the 3rd, and if Noel slips to 4th round then he can become the third ISU guy to the Commanders in the draft this year.

My buddy met Porter at the airport last week and said Porter is so insanely friendly. He was flying into DC to meet with the Commanders. I also told my friend to ask who his best friend on the team was and if Rocco Becht is as cool as he seems. Porter told him that Freyler was his best friend and that Rocco is as cool as he seems. Porter also said Campbell is honest and just a flat out good guy.

Jaylin Noel is nearly a lock for the 2nd round, based upon how well he's tested and his whole process leading up to the draft. Plus he's an awesome dude, and there are not many WRs in this class with his vertical ability. It just depends upon team needs at this point.

I don't think the Sanders camp is interested in Cleveland. It's a pretty wide consensus that Ward is #1 to TEN and Travis Hunter is #2 to Cleveland. Then NYG takes a QB or trades back (New Orleans) and gets a different QB. Cleveland might try to scoop a "value" QB at the top of the 2nd round.

I don't think Wilson or Winston blocks NYG from taking a QB in the top 10 this season. They are not sorry to have Nabers, but in doing so they passed on 3 other R1 QBs last year that appear to be panning out fine, and I think they wish they had one of them right now. While their QB choices might be lesser this year, I am not sure they make that choice in 2025.

However the chalk pick would be for them to take Abdul Carter at 3, he would be BPA if Ward and Hunter go 1-2.

This is from an article in the Athletic and what it had to say about the ISU receivers, posted today.

• Everyone really likes both Iowa State receivers, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. Said WR coach No. 3: “I had Higgins higher. He’s got the size. He’s a hard cover. But Noel is really good. He can really work the middle of the field.” Added WR coach No. 1: “What do you need, a slot or the tall, linear outside guy who can get 50-50 balls? They’re both really good.”

Giants need to win now for their coach and GM to save their jobs. If they draft a developmental QB at #3, they deserve to get fired. They SHOULD add either Hunter or Carter - whichever is there - and automatically improve their starting day roster.

But it’s the Giants and they can’t seem to even take a leak without pissing on their own shoes so who knows.

You think Noel is going that high? Most mocks and rankings I'm seeing have him in the 75-100 overall range, which would equate to a third round pick.

Hopefully it turns out they go higher than this but this is what I will predict :

Higgins: mid to late 2nd Round
Noel: early 3rd (slot WR's tend to drop a bit)
Porter: early 4th (still a bit raw so don't know if a team will use a Day 2 pick on him)
