NBA: *** 2025-26 NBA Thread ***

I thought Champagnie won the game for Spurs.

Dude hit some big time 3s when OKC were starting runs.

Wemby is so much more likable than SGA it’s crazy. I don’t think I’ve ever rooted against a team in one series and then rooted this hard for them in the next.

Buh bye OKC. See if you can make it through the parking lot without falling on the ground.

Go Spurs Go!

We'll see. SA had big win over OKC in the League Cup, then could not handle the Knicks in the final.

Their other two matchups ended with a 2 point win at home and a 20 point loss in NY. San Antonio feels like the better team, but I'm not sure they can sleepwalk through the finals.

SGA is gaining some respect in his presser. Very complimentary of SAS and seems to refuse to blame injuries on the loss even when the press asks about it.

It’ll be interesting to see if Chet can adapt or not

I don’t know how much he’ll need to with OKC. I think people are overreacting to this series loss. Add in the injured players and I think OKC would have won this series in 5 or 6. Having consistent shooters is what cost them games 6 and 7. Chet will always be ineffective against Wemby. They’re very similar players, but Wemby is just better at it. But with shooters I don’t think they need Chet to be near the level of Wemby. Chet has been fine against other teams.

Of course, SAS will also get better with experience. So I’m not predicting that OKC will always be the better team, but I think these teams will be very even over the next few years and I don’t see Chet needing to match Wemby to do so.

Spurs had injuries to primary ball handlers at the start of the series as well.

Spurs could be building another dynasty, seems like they are drafting and coaching well. OKC is doing the same but their style of play(antics?) is just so unenjoyable to watch.

I don't see OKC winning in 5 under any circumstances. They possibly win in 7 if fully healthy but I think San Antonio matches up incredibly well to them and this was always going to be a 50/50 series.

Chet always being ineffective which I agree with is a huge problem though. Barring injury to Webenyama this is who they're going to draw late in playoffs each year. You can't have a guy making 45-50 million a year be borderline unplayable against your biggest challenger. His contract is going to come at the cost of their depth in near future. This offseason it'll be Hartenstein, and Dort. OKC needs to have an honest assessment regarding if they believe Chet can realistically improve to a higher level because currently I don't think he's worth his contract. If he's near his ceiling I think I'd try to move him.
