NBA: *** 2025-26 NBA Thread ***

It's because Dort is dirty and SGA is the biggest flopper in the league.
I don't even necessarily disagree with some of that. He's definitely a flopper. League is full of floppers though. Maybe he's the biggest but it's a deep competitive bench.

Webenyama had that elbow across the face of Reid which is probably dirtiest play of playoffs and then in mop-up time tells the bench hard fouls. They proceed to forearm a guy off the ball in the back. I'm not even an OKC fan but I just think the outrage against them has reached its limit. It's not just fans too. It's hard to watch a sporting channel and not get same thoughts there that are on here and everywhere. It's my belief that because they're in OKC and not NY/LA the media is happy to add to the narrative. I'm actually becoming Thunder sympathizers. It's the chief fan in me. I've seen this script.

For me, they're just not a fun team to watch. They're so good and don't need to resort to the flopping BS, which makes it more frustrating. It works for them though; my disdain is more focused on Adam Silver for allowing the league to reward flopping.

That's fair they definitely flop more than most. But it's more competitive imo than portrayed. I agree with Silver and league. His comments recently makes me think he's not going to change anything unfortunately.

Spurs play just as physical defensively and have shot more FTs. I just don't understand the constant vitriol fans and media have for OKC
Just watch them play. They everything they do is well within the rules, but it’s the stuff people hate. The flopping, the jumping into defenders on shots, hitting the floor on every contact. It’s all the little stuff that feels cheap when you see it. Additionally, it’s not just SGA. It’s EVERYONE. That makes it clear is an orchestrated and coached philosophy which can be more frustrating from a fan perspective.

I’m not going to blame them necessarily, because it gives them an edge and I think it does get in the heads of some teams and really creates frustration. Why would they stop doing something that helps them win games an isn’t against any rules? Just isn’t going to earn them any love.

Spurs on the other hand are hyper physical and probably getting away with a lot in this series to fair. They also attack the rim way more forcefully though and that’s the FT advantage they are actually earning
