Washington should be greatly improved next year if they keep Davis. Trae Young running the point, Dybantsa on the wing, with a front line of Davis and Sarr. Sarr can stretch the floor while AD can offer rim protection. Plus AJ Johnson should improve in his second year.

Davis has to be on the court to make a difference. History says he won’t be there much.

I don't think the Clippers get the future anymore, since they got top 5 this year.

If they do then Pacer GM needs the ax

This is correct. Would have been an unprotected 2031 1st rounder if they didn’t get it this year. Now the trade is complete.

So instead of paying Miles Turner, the Pacers gave up Matherin and the 5th pick for the cheaper Zubac. That’s a lot to give up to save $9m a year.

Mathurin was a bust for LAC after the trade. He’s an RFA this year, and good chance the Clips let him walk. But #5 for Zubac makes the trade much better for LAC.

The disappointment for Indiana isn’t so much what they gave up. It’s losing what they could have had (Zubac + top 4 pick).

To be fair, Zubac is underrated and a good bit better than Turner IMO. His strengths are what the pacers needed. Just would have been good to pair with a top 4 young talent

Can't wait to see how chicago blows picking at 4.
I think top 4 in some order is Dybantsa, peterson, boozer, and Wilson. Think bulls get wilson most likely. He'll be solid, and good defender immediately. I'm not sure he'll ever be a star though. Personally I'd take Acuff but I do admit he's much riskier than Wilson. Do you have a preference with their pick?

Clippers receive:
- 5th pick in the 2026 NBA draft
- Unprotected 2029 FRP
- 2028 SRP
- Bennedict Mathurin
- Isaiah Jackson

Pacers receive:
- Ivica Zubac
- Kobe Brown

unless they changed the details, the first round pick was for 2031 if the 2026 was top 4 and they get that back since the 2026 pick went to LAC. This was a terrible trade at the time and even worse in hindsight. Nobody was offering anything near this for a center who hasn’t been close an all star and almost 30.

To be honest I've been checked out on the franchise in the last decade so it doesn't matter who they take.
