***2025-26 CFB Coaching Carousel***

Firing Luke Fickel does nothing for Wisconsin. Their NIL is almost dead last in the BIG. Until they can pay, that program will stay in the cellar.

AD is putting his job at risk by given Fickel another year, he was the one that fired the prior coach to give the job to Fickel, if it does not work out and get to 7/8 wins next year, both of them will be unemployed.

Further proof that “slam dunk” hires often don’t work either. It’s a crapshoot.
The "hot name" almost never works. Give me a guy that's got some head coaching experience and done more with fewer resources anyway instead of a coordinator. And if you aren't a Southerner you get no even less of a leash in SEC country. Ask Bryan Harsin. These schools have absolutely no patience to even let a guy come in and try and build for 2-3 years. If Mizzou was part of the "good ole" boy club Drinkwitz would have been gone after his second year. It honestly doesn't surprise me Mizzou has done okay in the SEC given they actually understand how important continuity is.

If I had 10+million per to spend on a coach I think id at least see if Chris Peterson had any interest in coaching again. He's one of the 4-5 elite coaches imo.

Not at all, this is a money issue not an AD issue. He could get let go before they hire a new coach so that he isn’t making another bad choice but that’s the only reason why.

Does the Kohl family still contribute? Herb Kohl always seemed to be the most prominent UW booster.
Herb Kohl is dead…. Not sure about the family

Is this?

Did that moron just withdraw 100K in Benjamins so he could flex it on a twitter video? In an increasingly cashless society?

Man's been playing college ball since 2019 also.

Wish the NCAA could put a coaching transfer portal out there. This is completely unfair to the Memphis team to have their coach accept that job midway through their season. Just come out and restrict all interviews and hiring until the end of the playoffs. Move the transfer portal if needed.

Do that, and, just like the transfer portal, schools, agents, and coaches would definitely follow all the rules and not talk/negotiate before it’s allowed.

In a way, I almost like the transparency here.

I don't understand how Wisconsin is so broke that they can't even afford to fire their coach?
  • They are the only FBS program in the state
  • They are in the BIG
  • They have a large fanbase
Are they just really bad at managing finances? Do they not have much for donors? Are all of their incoming funds going towards facilities?
