Haha. This is how dense I am. Didn't even dawn on me until last night we still had two
they mentioned it on the game last night
but i noticed two students dressed like the presidents again from last year during one of our first games and that's when it dawned on me.
TBF, it's kind of hard to celebrate the presidency of James Buchanan.
Plenty to celebrate with the presidency of Blake Buchanan
Starting to see some tiers forming in Big12.
- I'd expect to see KU for sure, and maybe BYU improve as their teams gel.
- Tech in kind of an odd spot - not elite but not mid.
- Tang pretty bad. You hate to see it.
- Utah, man, get it together.

60% chance to win AT the Phog, my how the turntables have turned.
It's almost like these models are pretty good when you've got enough data for this season.
46% I think is more reasonable, even that perhaps a little on high side.
But many seasons, even with the best ISU teams, anything above about 30% seemed like "Wow!"
I’m to the point 5 losses in Big 12 will be a disappointment give the schedule this year. That would mean we’re losing some games we just shouldn’t. That’s by no means a guarantee and don’t think you’re off base.

It's a we'll known fact that James Buchanan was an absolute baller.
Remember when the fanbase wanted the transfer from South Dakota State (William Kyle) and we "settled" for Joshua Jefferson? I too was crushed when we "missed" on Oscar Cluff and had to "settle" for Blake Buchanan. Im good never questioning the staff in terms of their recruits again. Think they know what they are doing. Our frontcourt is incredible!
That would also mean this team isn't winning many (if any) of the biggest games left on their schedule (@Kansas, Kansas, Houston, @BYU, @Arizona).
I have a really hard time envisioning this team going the bulk of their conference schedule without any marquee wins.
If I’m wagering I think 4 losses.
Lose two of @AZ, @ BYU, @KU.
Lose one respectable one at home (Probaly Houston or Kansas).
One dud of a game that surprises us or key player out.
If we win at th Phog in January it’s possible we go until mid February undefeated.

That's your own fault for pushing high expectations on the team when we have seen great play but haven't hit conference play yet or seen how these freshmen's legs hold up. Can we finish with like three losses? 100% yes. But I'd rather err on the side of caution for my own mental health so if we do hit a rough patch I don't immediately think it's a disappointment.
We have road games at Baylor, at Kansas, at Okie State, at TCU, at BYU, at Arizona and home against Houston, Kansas and Texas Tech. All of those games are winnable if we play our best game like Purdue. All of those games are losable if we play like we did against Iowa first half. That's nine games...split the difference. That's like 4-5 losses.
