Men’s 1500, 3:30 wins it.
I don’t follow T&F but that is flying for a mile

9:51.35 for Schraft. 9th in her heat, 19th overall.

Needed 9:33 to advance. School record (which she holds) is 9:34.

The coverage of this stuff is so good. I wish somehow more T and F were on TV.

Karissa Schweizer (ex-Dowling HS/Missouri) finished 3rd in the 5k and will go to Paris.

I’m always surprised being that these are the best athletes in the US and can still get lapped

Darius Kipyego finished 4th in his heat of the 800 (1:47.18), and advances to Friday night's semifinals (8:39 p.m. CT).

Next up tonight will be Sydney Willits in the women's long jump (8:18 p.m. CT).

Oddity in the women's 200. The first round had 29 entrants, with 27 scheduled to advance to the semis. Two entrants scratched, so everyone ended up moving on.

6.48m (21-03.25) first jump for Willits. Ties her outdoor PR.

6th place after round 1 (of 3). Top 12 will move on.

Willits finishes 10th and moves on to the finals, Saturday night at 7:20 CT.

Coming up at 8:35 p.m. CT:

Men's 800m semifinals
Darius Kipyego (Heat 2 of 3)

Top 2 each heat + next 3 fastest advance to finals (Sunday, 6:51 p.m. CT)

No Alex Morgan on women's soccer team.

I think this is the right call. I'm not saying she doesn't have the skill/juice to be on the team... but the front line is pretty well stacked. Rodman would be the one I question, but she's got top end speed which is necessary on the world stage.
