Agreed. Our living room has 10ft ceilings and I pointed out to my wife that she was 2ft higher than that - "no way" was the response.

Even if the floor is springboard it's crazy impressive.

All that said, with the injuries, USA women's gymnastics looks a bit shaky heading into the Olympics

It’s crazy because when you compare her floor routine to the other Olympian’s, she’s just SO MUCH better. Same thing with vault.

Committee makes sense in gymnastics. 4 apparatus, they take 5 athletes to compete and can only use 3 athletes per apparatus.

Just because someone is good at the All Around doesn’t mean they are necessarily the right choice for the team and individual elements.

Remember McKayla Maroney? She probably isn’t on the 2012 Olympic Team at all, the US doesn’t win as many gymnastics medals in total and the world wouldn’t have witnessed possibly the greatest vault ever performed, if they just took the top all around scores.

So why don’t the men have a committee?
