Americans just can't find gold in the pool. Keep coming up just short.
Yeah feel like swimming hasn't been able to quite get there. Women seem to have done better than the men but lots of close 2nds. Sucks we lost the 4 x 400 relay on the track. That group set the WR in qualifying.

There was a missed false start in lane 8 in that women’s final. She twitched before the gun, definitely should have had a restart there. Might have been enough to throw off Richardson’s concentration as it happened in her periphery.

The Netherlands brought in their ringer. That girl was a beast!

On that note though, I don’t really like how you can switch in and out athletes from the prelims, semis, and finals. The same 4 should compete in the final that competed in the previous races unless there’s an injury).

Richardson's start was by far the worst of any finalist, just based on reaction time.

Alfred was 0.14. Richardson was 0.22. Everyone else was 0.13-0.16.
She looked slow off the start so that definitely makes sense
