Well this certainly didn't pass the eye test in Iowa City the other night. But it's on the computer so......;)

I'm terrified the committee is going to be cute and put Nebraska as the #8 to our #1.

Evidence: they were cute as **** last year with Drake. They'll do it again.

History has shown they're out to get us.

You wouldn't know. You weren't there.

Mountaineer Coliseum is still not an easy place to play.

Long trip, big game vs. KU a few days prior and a tough road game at TT before that.

Even if ISU is 2-0 (starting this Saturday) heading down there and riding high, that's a perfect time for a bit of a letdown while the opponent has a day.

If we lose a close one late I guarantee there will be heavy discussion on why TJ leaves starters in too long and that we have no legs.

Might be a new thread.

Probably aleo something about Watson having that one big offensive game once and some hand wringing about 'blown leads' if ISU is up 8 at the 10 minute mark in the first half.

He plays eight men.

200 / 8 = 25 minutes each

Yeah, a few of them, mostly Gilbert, Jones, Lipsey, and Jefferson, play more than the other four.

But even the guards are playing more like 30-32 per night when in previous seasons guys like Hunter, Brockington, Kalscheur, and sophomore Lipsey would be playing 35-38+ per night.

They're further from the redline on the reactor than they've been in previous TJ seasons. Having a fourth viable guard (Heise) to spell them an extra 3-4 minutes makes all the difference there.

You say it as a joke... but we both know it's comin'.

(Even if going eight deep is actually pretty deep by the standards of college basketball.)
If I were TJ, I’d just try to win and avoid all that. We’ll see. Not sure he’s thought about just winning every game but I bet he’s considering it at the least. It honestly just came to me after some thought but you don’t just get to his level without that kind of mental acuity.

Al Davis had it right. "Just win baby."

Agreed. Adequate rest throughout the season will really pay off in March and April especially for a team that plays as hard as the Cyclones do.

Currently in all games Keshon is 14th in the conference at 30.4 minutes per game. No other Cyclone appears in the top 25 (at least 28.6 min/g).

In just conference games (yes, a very small sample size) Keshon is tied for 10th at 33.7 mpg. Again, no other Cyclone appears in the top 25 (at least 31 mpg).

Minutes
P - Overall - Conf
KG - 30.4 - 33.7
CJ - 28.2 - 29.7
TL - 27.6 - 30.0
JJ - 25.6 - 27.7
MM - 25.5 - 27.0
NH - 19.3 - 19.0
DJ - 18.1 - 14.7
BC - 14.6 - 18.3

*No other Cyclone has logged a minute in conference play.

I’ve been critical of some of the substitutions in the noncon…mostly not subbing out starters when up 30. But, I have no issues with what TJ has done this conference season so far. Kinda wish Nojus would have gotten a few minutes Saturday, but we really weren’t in foul trouble. We’re so good with the top 8 that others aren’t getting to play. I really like that the guys who DO play are real contributors and not just giving spot minutes while someone is resting.
