Winning the two toss-up games (at Oklahoma and v. Houston) and otherwise defending the home court would give you no worse than 4/6. Stealing one at TCU would give you 5/6.

Actual win expectation to start the season is 3.72 wins and 2.28 losses, though.

Still, if we assume the remaining cupcakes are all wins and the Big 12 starts out 5/6...

Four of the top eight seeds being Big 12 is amazing and 1 seed Arizona joining next year. I don’t expect we see this exactly by year end but damn is the Big 12 so good.

That was the first thing I noticed. 75% of the 1 seeds being future Big XII teams. I love Big XII basketball and I hate Big XII basketball.

One of the things to keep in mind is that the Big 12 is always much deeper than the other conferences so the distribution of wins/losses will pull the average down a bit. That happens every year between pre-conference and conference games with these projections.

The committee has become much more interested in the quality of your wins as opposed to the number of your wins over time, though. This is only going to lead to the B12 stuffing the top seeds.

I know it isn't what the odds say here, but wouldn't it be a riot to win each of these games they are favored in by this metric. Starting conference play at 5-1 against that schedule would be outstanding!

5-1 probably isn't realistic.

3-3 would be good. 4-2 would be a great start. Our Big 12 schedule is quite front loaded.

I'm very intrigued by the BYU game. Kind of like us. Metrics darling, a couple decent wins but no great wins yet.

Wow, our schedule looks brutal right now. Who knew Oklahoma and BYU would be good? We play both twice. Our team is starting to play well, but just about every game will be a war! I hope, like I think Blum said, we win our home games at least.

I don’t see much letup in the back half. The only one I see that’s an easy win is ucf and even that’s in the road. The conf schedule is brutal.

We are now the 3rd fastest paced team in the Big XII. I was not expecting that
Neither was I. But so far it makes sense. We are not going to be as good defensively as before so need to leverage the increased offensive production to over come the decline on defense.

ISU has sold out all conference home games except Houston and BYU, and those are nearly sold out. Hilton is going to be a difficult place to play for visitors in the league this year.
