Avs beat Blues in OT. Kind of amazing the game got to OT as Colorado controlled most of the game.
“Control” in hockey is a weird thing, especially compared to basketball or football. In those sports control is reflected by the scoreboard.
But in hockey there are times where controlling a game just doesn’t really mean jack. If the goaltender is able to keep the puck out of the net despite a constant onslaught, and the team is able to take advantage of counters when they come, then one team’s control of a game amounts to nothing. This happened a lot during the TBL-TOR series. TOR controlled much of that series, including games they lost, and still lost the series 4-3.
