***2022 PGA Tour Thread***

LIV will have to get a LOT more big names to switch before anyone cares to tune in.

It will be a LONG time before they will ever create the kind of atmosphere that they had in Atlanta this past weekend.

Playing on the LIV Tour right now would not be fun at all. Sure, you’ll have lots of money, but no excitement whatsoever.

Decent, I suppose, if you overlook the fact that these guys prefer money over competitive environments. I look at these guys the same way I would look at Aaron Rodgers (or any other top NFL talent) if he went to Jacksonville for a big payday. Good for you, but obviously excellence is not your priority.
Oh lord.

Not to mention Rodgers signed the biggest QB contract in history this off-season, he might care about the money just a little.
Obviously they all do. But Rodgers going to Jacksonville would be 100% about money and 0% about winning. Same with LIV. They want a more casual experience with less golf and less competitive pressure (and lots of money).

If Rodgers took the same contract from Jacksonville it's about money but in GB it's for the love of the game?

Tbf one team is playoff competitive, one is not
How do we think that teams become playoff competitive? There could be a hundred different reasons for a player to leave a team, if the money was the same at both then how would it be about the money? For reference, Pride said if he took the same amount of money from Jacksonville it would be "100% about the money".

It wouldn't be the same amount though. JAX would be offering substantially more, as LIV is doing for golfers. It's not the same money. It'd be more like JAX offering 2x-3x his current contract.

Cam Smith jumping ship blows but isn't a surprise, he could have gone on a multi year run but it's pretty obvious from interviews that he doesn't care to have the second level of competitiveness that guys like Tiger and Rory have. He's going to have a lot more time fishing with his buddies off the Florida coast

He has an actual chance to win something in Green Bay
You're stuck on some black and white thing where someone either only cares about "excellence" or only cares about money.

In one season Tom Brady helped the Bucs go from being last in their division for like a decade to the Super Bowl, crazy **** happens.
