Reading between the lines, I don't think they want to make that big of a decision on this short of notice. Probably a good call. Interesting with Dustin Johnson and Kevin Na resigning from the PGA.
Yeah, the resigning thing does make sense though, can’t get punished by the pga tour if you’re not a member of the pga tour. Or at least can’t as easily and without a lawsuit.

I do think the majors should just hold to their usual exemption or qualifying criteria.

I agree. I'm not 100% sure on the maze of criteria that gets them exemptions, but as long as they are playing in enough or winning enough events to make it into whatever event, just let them.

I'm all for letting them come and having some overserved Bostonians heckle them.

Phil and DJ have exemptions into every major until the end of 2026. If those criteria suddenly change, those majors are getting sued.

Honestly, I’d take the LIV money in a heartbeat
Everyone would. But I also hope the PGA comes out of this even stronger in the end and survives and that LIV is short-lived.

For alot of these dudes, I get it. I mean, Rickie Fowler was playing in some qualifier this week trying to get into the US Open. Go somewhere you can compete and make your money. If you're a washed up veteran, whatever. Go get your money.

For the rest of them, I do think you have to think about your competitive legacy. Beating up on a bunch of has-beens on bad setups doesn't do much for your legacy. And for those who are routinely in the mix, their bank accounts aren't hurting enough to give up the competition.

I also just wish these LIV guys would just call a spade a spade. But guys like McDowell and Westwood look like complete tools trying to claim some worth cause.

Take it while it's there. LIV still needs a few key components, like an actual fanbase, some historical following, real culture...

Not too surprising but Tiger withdraws from US Open.

Good. He had no chance of making the cut there. That's going to be a big boys course and he won't have it in him. It would have been a needless waste of energy.

I also personally believe he tweaked something at the PGA. Get right for St Andrews where you can slap it around and beat some guys with your game plan.

He can legitimately compete at the Old Course. Although I am terrified that 30 under will be the winner. The wind better blow

Bryson and Patrick Reed now both going to the LIV. At what point does this star to get concerning for the PGA Tour? I’m not saying that is now, but honestly curious.

I'm sure they're paying attention, Bryson is polarizing yes, but he is a big name regardless. Maybe we'll get lucky and the guys that scream stupid **** after every tee shot will go follow LIV, that's my best case scenario.

If only the PGA tour had years to come up with something better. This whole process started with Greg Norman in like 1993. They’ve done nothing but laugh it off.

I’m honestly hoping that this evolves into an actual entertaining golf product outside the majors like it currently is

Also the wealth of Saudi Arabia is basically limitless for all practical purposes, the PGA Tour not so much. They can waste billions of dollars a year on this thing and it will have no effect on them. If LIV ends up turning into something that's entertaining to watch, the PGA Tour could be in big trouble if they keep hassling players that want to play in it.

What is wrong with the PGA tour? Honest question. I love it just the way it is, but I'm open to ideas if things need improvement.
