I would love to try Skeleton and Luge 1 time

Has anyone on here done this? Is this something you can do in Salt Lake or Lake Placid? Google turned up a bobsled experience thing in Lake Placid that appears to be a ride along with a professional driver. Count me in the group that would live to try these sliding sports once.

Not exactly sure.

Honestly, there would be a good chance of serious injury if you did these by yourself. I would love to do it but too afraid to die just jumping in with a buddy in a bobsled.

Looks like if you are under 16, doping rules don’t apply, but only in the Olympics. BS. Another 2 years and she will be washed up as a medalist, and another phenom will be on the podium.

The IOC are a bunch of cowards. They'll wait until the Olympics are over for a few weeks and officially award the medals to Russia after everyone has moved on from the Olympics to avoid the uproar.

I also feel like Russia should get zero benefit of the doubt. Like if this was a Zambian figure skater who was 16 it might be more buyable.

The IOC is so corrupt that it makes FIFA look good.

They've pretty much just given the Russians a free pass to cheat forever.

I read it was an arbitrator that said the Russian could complete and not the IOC. The IOC said if she can compete and she wins a medal we won't have a ceremony to recognize it.

That basically does nothing though. She would still get a medal, she would go back to Russia and show everyone she won a medal, she will get endorsements for winning that medal in Russia. I am sure a lot of Olympians would like to be on the podium in front of the crowd, but just having the medal I would think is way more of a deal and important.

That is crap for the other two athletes if they are not from Russia. Do they not get one or do they just pull the Russian off the stand?

If you're interested they have the Skelton or Bobsled at Whistler you can do. They have you start down the track a ways but it was a great time when we were out there a couple of years ago. Here's the link to the center that runs it.

The closest thing I've ever come to it might be considered "straight jacket sledding", where you take a garbage bag, punch a hole in the bottom, and wear it like a straight jacket - and then throw yourself down a hill headfirst. We did this a lot at the disc golf course south of Towers.
