I don't get why that event is judged/scored, shouldn't it just be who went the farthest (legally of course, no wing material in the arm pits and crotch area).

Wind speed/direction can change overall distance +/- 3m or so

USA up 3 to 1 on Canada in men's hockey right now.
I don't watch hockey much at all, but it seems like the US is dominating this game. Am I wrong? Canada has to be one of the favorites I would think.

Well, ever since I said this it looks like Canada had a fire lit under their ass.

So it seems like the US got less aggressive after they scored that 3rd goal. Was that switching to a defensive game or was it just Canada upping their game?

You wouldn't generally go conservative up just 2 (unless it's late in the game); if Canada upped their pressure they could have overwhelmed USA.
