They've pretty much just given the Russians a free pass to cheat forever.

Has anyone on here done this? Is this something you can do in Salt Lake or Lake Placid? Google turned up a bobsled experience thing in Lake Placid that appears to be a ride along with a professional driver. Count me in the group that would live to try these sliding sports once.

I think you can bobsled or skeleton in Park City.

I also feel like Russia should get zero benefit of the doubt. Like if this was a Zambian figure skater who was 16 it might be more buyable.

The closest thing I've ever come to it might be considered "straight jacket sledding", where you take a garbage bag, punch a hole in the bottom, and wear it like a straight jacket - and then throw yourself down a hill headfirst. We did this a lot at the disc golf course south of Towers.

It's nothing extreme as bobsledding, but I hiked about half way up Mount Rainier and "glissaded" back down much of the way. Meaning hiking up with crampon spikes and boots for about 5 hours, then wrapped my butt in garbage bags I brought in my backpack and slid down using the same a$$ groove created by other hikers in about 45 minutes of butt sliding. The turnaround point was about where it stops being fun single day hike and turns into overnight mountaineering. Even if I had just hiked down it would have taken an extra couple hours vs sliding down on a garbage bag.

Too bad there is no crowds for ice skating and it's being held in China, I think the crowd could heckle that cheating Russian into breaking. Ice skating crowds are usually pretty tame a good rowdy crowd could throw her off her game I would think.

Not at all she got knee capped by Tonya's goon. I mean just good old fashioned heckling like 10,000 people chanting Your a cheater from the moment she steps on the ice till when she finishes. Then boo the heck out of her no matter how pretty her performance was.

82 mph on skis - my god

I would like to know how fast I've gone on skis. There have been times when the skis start chattering and I'm thinking oh s**t don't wipeout now and there is no way I'm going anywhere near 80. I'd be that guy flying thru the fence.
