Baker Mayfield has been linked to the Panthers ever since the Browns traded for Deshaun Watson and a deal sending the quarterback to Carolina is finally in place.

Pretty low risk deal for the Panthers. Give up a 5th round pick (that could become a 4th) for a guy who should be your day 1 starter. Carolina only responsible for $5mil of his salary. I doubt Carolina is making the playoffs regardless, but if he turns out to be serviceable, it's a very cheap price to pay for a starting qb

I'm guessing Watson is getting at least 8 games if not a whole season. Are the Browns really going to go with Jacoby Brissett as their QB? They have a talented roster and it might go to waste with no QB. I wonder if Jimmy G could be an option for the Browns if he shows his shoulder is healed in early pre-season. Think 49ers want to go with Lance.

I was listening to a guy on sports talk who was talking about how even if he gets a whole year off there's still a pretty good chance there's a whole bunch more women who may come forward in the next year too. He was pretty convinced or at least arguing Watson might not ever play for them. May just be hyperbolic
 
I just saw on ESPN that the 49ers have given Jimmy G. permission to seek a trade. I would think that is good news for Brock Purdy

Still will be battling Sudfeld for that backup role. But definitely helps at least make competition easier.
